Kite Shield of the King has a regen effect on it, but it's broken . Fully tested by myself, but I'm still waiting on an official GM response. Shield is nice anyways.

Kite shield of the king is a master chest drop. The GM response to my petition about the effect was "ask my fellow players". I have a feeling it's broken.

Thanks for the update Darkith.  I have updated our list.

 

I recently dinged level 36 and started studying the list again to plan for my next kite shield investment.  I quickly noted the lack of data for the skill range 180-190.  I'm sure there are some shields in this range we've missed, so you guys keep posting data, corrections, etc. and I'll keep the list growing.

 

I'm not sure how we can get this board sticky'd, but an email to a forum moderator might work.  I'll give it a try.

I just read today's update notes regarding Kite Shield of the King--I already wanted one of these badly with the +15 STR, but now it includes:

 

Kiteshield of the King should replenish 24 power per tick.

I have been told this item drops from a master chest.  Does anyone have additional details on how/where to obtain this item?

It's a standard part of high end epic loot tables. I logged on today only to find regen is ONLY out of combat, which is either a screw up because every other item with a similiar effect is full time regen, or it's a incredibly lame nerf. I'm trying to find out what the deal with it is.

So this is just a minor rant that stems from me being really [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] about my equipment. Back when I was still a young pallie, I was able to buy the Stormshield (which should have been sold for waaaay more then 1 gold :smileyhappy: ) but now as I am level 24.8 I am looking for something else as it cons blue to me. I always try to have equipment that cons at least yellow to me. As of 3 weeks of looking, I have not been able to find a better shield that I can use. Every shield that cons orange or yellow to me has almost the same ability buffs but LESS AC! Looking at that chart, it looks like my only option is to get a fir shield but with fir selling for 50+ gold, I am thinking it is not worth the extra 50 AC.

 

Anyone else have this problem or have a solution for me, or do I just have to suffer from my OCD until I hit level 30ish? :smileyvery-happy:

Regarding the other post regarding con color.  You'll find it hard to beat some blue and yellow con items even if new equipment is an orange con.  Always study the stats and determine which compliments your overall gear best.  I have had blue jewelry better then any orange I can find, weapons in the blue that were equal to most orange, etc.  The key is to study the market and know what is good and what is fair price wise so you can take advantage when the time comes.

 

Tonight I found a new 190 skill shield (nice since I dinged 38 tonight and finished Foomby's Heritage which is now granting a 20 slot bag 30% percent weight reduction -- worth 20 gold to city merchant, nearly 6 more gold from the quest, and uber status).

This shield was 27 gold and 80 silver on Najena server black market.

I finally found a 180 skill kite shield this evening on the Qeynos broker (Najena server).  Actually two listings @ 13 and 14 gold each.

I am pleased to announced I finally figured out the "revised" item search database.  Until the last upgrade, I had bad luck tracking kite shields.  However, I searched the entire archive today and updated our list with literally dozens of new kite shields.  We are rapidly approaching 100 kite shields on the list.

 

The new additions include tons of crude and shaped rares not previously on the list that could definitely influence your purchases.  I recommend everyone take time to study the updates with so many options for consideration.

I saw Stormshield drop on a gigantic named hawk in Thundering Steppes the other night, though I can't remember the name of the mob off-hand.  It was around level 30^^, and we killed it on the western shore, near the griffon fields.

That would be Windfeather. Stormshield also drops from the named gryhpon in the Commonlands whos name I cant recall.

Update for data. Not sure if it's due to changes to AC display but I found the following to be different Snapper Shell Kite Shield now caps at 379 at lvl 33 Guard of Grumm now 492 at lvl 40 Sheer Bone Kite Shield now 379 at 35

Thanks for the update.  I checked many shields from t1-t4 and found nearly all loot drops had dropped on AC.  I suppose I'll have to go back and redo our whole list over time to get new stats as they are available.

I was unaware a kite shield AC change was implemented.

I think we can safely assume now that all 417 rated kite shields have been reduced to 379.  I will check them off the list as I see each on the broker.  However, I've already noted every 417 down to 379 via the good/evil brokers.

Fellow Pallys,

We need to work hard to update the Kite Shield Data with AC changes that took place during the weekend of 18-20 Mar 2005.  I have already corrected through list submissions and personal broker board listings many AC updates.  You will note the corrected AC values on shields flagged with the pink asterisk *

If you have a shield or see a shield missing the asterisk, please post the new stats so we may update the list for the up and coming pallys trying to equip the best technologies.

I also removed most of the green text after entries indicating the updated date.  I left all the entries submitted by our group with a thanks to the individual with the information.  However, I wasn't a big fan of seeing my name next to so many updates on the ones discovered on the broker board

Just a headsup, crafted shield AC has been nerfed, you can no longer enjoy high AC values on crude shields.  I am glad Sony got to it before other fixes were made, they got their priorities straight as always.

Hmm, following LU #5 kite shields with 417 AC that dropped to 379 AC are now showing 417 again, at least for the Snapper Shell Kite Shield. Guard of Grum is again showing 656 AC at lvl 40 Sheer Bone Kite Shield is now showing 443 AC at lvl 35. Yet another change to how AC is displayed may have altered the figures back to what they were previously.

Greeting all!

 

I wanted to post a quick update regarding our thread.  I was off work all last week (vacation) so I spent all my time in-game and dinged level 41.  I noticed several shields raise, lower and raise again in shield factor.  I decided to wait until the week was up to allow stats to settle into place before making mass changes.

 

Now that my break is over, I'll be researching shields again as usual and making updates on a regular basis.  The current list is very out of date, but hopefully, within one week we'll have a current/accurate set of information that will allow for proper equipment planning.

 

I'm very interested in the outcome of the new imbued items, so please submit that data as well.  I will start making updates based on all posts after today while also comparing recent submissions to what I find to make sure they are still current.

 

I spent about 16 hours harvesting in tier 5 for severed cedar and with over 500 units of teak--still no finds.  I did manage to collect 8 rares this week, but 2 strange black ores (boo!), 2 superb quality pelts and the remainder of luminous finds (used for imbues of tier 5 player crafts).

 

I did note a very nice pristine imbued ebon long sword that make my ghoulbane look quite a bit inferior with a possible over 200 proc of damage and very nice stats.  You guys might want to look into that as an option of your one-hander upgrade.  Unfortunately, since we need 7 ebons for armor, 1 for the inert or electrified bone bladed claymore, a 9th one for a one hander may be a bit too much to ask   I've yet to collect my first rare in this category, but still grinding away.

 

Thanks for your patience on updates and thanks for the latest submissions--we'll have this data back in shape in no time.
