![]() I realy realy realy realy realy realy realy realy wanted to make a SK because it seems like they are by far the most interesting mix of caster vs tank but if i was to make one i would want to tank but after reading most of the newb posts it seams as though people tend to shun SK's as MT's ![]() i have a guard and he has no problem with getting grps, but hes boring, sit taunt get punched in face, no fun or SUCK THE ESSENCE OUT OF MY ENEMYS WITH MALICIOUS SPELLS AND HELL FORGED ARMOR, I WILL DEVOUR THE SOULS OF THOSE THAT OPPOSE ME!!!! but i have no hp or superior def stance that allows me to do what a tank is supposed to do, get punched in the face. yes holding agro will be ough but i can live with that, but if im going to be a wet paper tower with plate armor its no good /cry

![]() Its really not that bad, we do fine as group tanks (although at lower levels agro can be a problem). But I tanked all the way through my levels and I was usually considered good at my job LOL. But to be honest if you have a good healer, rogues can tank 90pct of group stuff. We also are effecient soloers. Really the only place that is IMHO a bit lacking is in the raid enviroment. But we have been improved in that region.

![]() yeah like margen said tho i dont want to roll a tank class and then be out tanked by a scout because they can get the same mit and higher avoidance than me guards i understand they have very little dps so they make up with it by having awsome taunts, zerkers have small taunts but good dps, both have high mit but pallys and SK's have heals/lifetaps wich help manage the higher amounts of dmg we take, however i would be so bold to say that SK's lifetaps are weak in comparison to a pallys heals (not for sure on that, just going of what i hear) has anyone actualy seen a SK MT in a raid situation before ? obviously once you gett fully fabled gear raid tanking is much easyer and any tank can do it, but im talking about a mix of fabled and legendary and zerk or guard can |

with reaver and associated other stuff we get, you can heal yourself for more than your entire HP pool in a 1 min 20sec fight. show me ANY other class that gets that for 1aa point that can tank.THE anti SK bias was created by SK's whining that they can't tank, can't taunt well enough etc. Any time the class comes in and starts moaning about how crappy it is, other folk buy it.We rock out with our cox out. Next time some noob says differently, tell them so, and then go about proving it spectacularly... All the time I get "how did you just get healed for 5k?" Folk don't know anything outside their own class, so they just buy whatever people within the class say about themselves... unfortunately, we have some people who claim we're crap... within our own ranks. They're wrong, or not playing the game right.

![]() The Myth of high DPS from zerkers comes only from some raiders who complain that their own class sucks and some other classes should be nerfed. In group settings i'm often number 1 dps zonwide no matter if i tank or not and i never saw any zerker in groups doing that much dps, so anyone who complains about our dps does not know how to play the class.

![]() With regards to raids, I am MT for my raid alliance. We clear labs up to corsolander, but the only reason we go no farther is that we're relatively new to raiding for the most part, and have only just started getting a full x4 raid going. My gear isn't bad, but a lot of SKs on my server and who post here blow mine out the water and several are MT for raiding guilds.
Anyone who berates SK tanking ability is either re-spouting hearsay crap they've heard, has grouped with a crap SK tank once and made a generalized assumption, or rolled a SK and didn't enjoy t1 or t2. |

about sk's tanking, my guild loves the fact that when I tank, the heals work less, i hold aggro as well as almost any other class, what people do not understand about how we tank is, we don't just push buttons and sit back, we are active tanks, sk tanking is about though, strat, and planing.with even a half [Removed for Content] group behind me I can tank though intances with a two hander, and only need to sword and board when mt in raids.NEVER let any one tell you that you can't tank.

![]() The SK class is not as inferrior as the ppl on the boards may attempt to make them sound. I have a 70 SK and I was the MT for my last guilds raids and I've produced results that others stated were impossible. It's not the class so much as the player. Get your ward, taps and defensive stance as the max quality that you can afford and you should be golden =). You won't need the HP that a guard has for grouping as you'll make up for it with taps. Agro won't be an issue once you figure out a casting order and get some AA's under your belt. Just fyi though, the INT AA path for crusaders is a MUST no matter what you want to do with your SK. A 68% spell crit chance will increase your DPS and agro much more than you would imagine. If you want any other info just shoot any of us a PM and I'm sure that anyone here would be more than willing to help ya out in any way bud =). Enjoy the bestest tanking class in the game

I love MT'ing raids with my SK. The usual tank requirements are still in effect though. 1. Knowning how to play: Things like spell combinations to maximize dps and agro. A bad SK tank is also going to be a bad Guardian, Zerker, Pally etc etc. Success depends on the driver more than the car. 2. Gear: No brainer here. Mitigation and HP are required for ALL tanks. No doubt gearing up an SK is harder due to finding plate with INT. The more INT you can get while in defensive stance, the better. 3. Spell quality: Adept3+ on all skills. One nice thing about the SK are cheaper masters hehe4. AA's. 4-4-8 INT and Siphon Hate are IMO important for Sk's who want to tank raids. I happen to like the STR line for the passive hate and 10% reduction to re-use timers and 10% increase in casting speed. 4. A quality raid force: Obviously the healers need to cure, dps needs to know how to manage thier agro etc etc. The same classes that can steal agro off me can also do it to a Guardian tank. But enough of that. What makes the SK fun is the versatility. I'm perfectly happy in a DPS roll mashing buttons, or being an add/off tank, or MT'ing. Plus what tank is more fun for instances? Pull a room of mobs, fire off some blue ae's and death march and let the good times roll. I even deleted my 50 zerker because i was having a lot more fun as an SK.That being said, the Guard is still the prefered tank for a single beefy mob. Tower of Stone and 12 second parry is just awesome. They sacrifice a ton of utility and DPS for these skills, and im happy for the trade off. I've played a guardian up to lvl 45 and it's a snooze fest.
