yesterday I was fortunate enough to get in quite a few pvp fights where I wasn't ganked just some nice one on one stuff around the same level me. I was level 17-19 yesterday. everyone I fought was level 19 or higher. the only fight I came close to winning was against a swashbuckler level 20. He got 4 frinds and then they all killed me. he couldnt beat me and was gonna loose several times but he ran till he found some allies. I was playing my shadowknight. Most of spells are weak, apprentice 2 stuff, some of my stuff is master1 or two, the reactive stuff, but my direct attack spells are adept or apprentice cant find anyting better. My gear is as good as I can make it. Some mastercrafted but nostly up to date other stuff. Any advice beyond the obvious get better spells.

sk's become feared at level 20.

HT is enough to make someone think twice about fighting you.

Other than that, make sure your casting blessing, it does a good amount of damage and also heals you a significant amount.

For the record, use HT as a finisher. Its THE kill shot.

as i tell everyone, try to learn using different techniques. don't rely on HT to win. i found in my younger days that after using HT, the person i killed will come back and kill me cuz HT isn't up. the more i played and the less i used HT, the better at being an SK i got and the less i was subject to return ganking. it's similar to how most wizards pvp. they stand there trying to cast ice nova and fusion neglecting their other great spells until they are dead. although HT is insta cast, i put it in that same group. become a master of your skillset and HT becomes less appealing in combat and is used more in those "oh [Removed for Content]" moments when you get jumped mid fight by some random player.

HT really isn't even why people hate to fight us. everyone in my guild hates fighting me cuz of the damage shield. that spell is the key to victory. i fought many an SK on my Q alts and i don't fear getting HT'd, i just hate the damage shield.

4/4/8 INT for sure. then i would go 4/4/8 WIS for Battle Leadership to help with spell resists. and i would then go 4/4/8 STA for Hammer Ground. group stun/knockback is great for pvp.

my SK tree needs some reworking now that Aggression was introduced. i would add the lifetap to the Coil line. add +% to the Blessing line. im still working on others to see which have the greatest benefit.

I need some help too. I can't find a SK worth a copper piece of a similar level who can beat me 1v1 on Nagafen. Anyone want to help me out?

Oh dear, a pally calling out SK's....must resist laughing to death!

Yet to lose to a Pally, 9 times out of 10 the pally severely underestimates* how well SK's can heal themselves, and they go out of power first, then its just a matter of time.

One reason, and this goes to the original poster as well, is the blessing line + blessing enchance AA.

At 70 with master 1 blessing and 5 points in enhance, it procs all the time for 550+ heal, nearly 2-2.5k heal each use, and essentially free 500-750 or so dmg on your enemy depending on their resists.

Pallys are a great class, but they simply can't dps enough to combat what amounts to a master inquisitor/templar heal on yourself that crits 68+ percent of the time (depending on gear heh).

On hint so long as your not fighting a huge burst dps class...let yourself get down to half or 3/4 before casting ward, no sense wasting heals procs to soak up initial low melee hits / dots.

*edited because i can't spell for [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]*

I'm a level 21 SK and I also haven't come across any Freeport tank comparable to me at all. Too bad it says Dennard is a Paladin now.

Right on the spot here. I play an exiled assassin and half my DPS comes from auto attack. Against an SK i get murdered. My only bet is to get my big attacks in which are reduced by mit anyways SMILEY
