Hey all~

Figured I would throw up a post on how much I'm loving my SK these days. For a long time I was lvling a Bruiser along with my SK. Found out SKs really are much better tanks (just my opinion you trolling Bruisers stay to your own boards) for groups of mobs and I like the utility of the class. Cannot stress how many times FD other or Evac has saved either the group or just some travel time when burning through quests.

I tank 100% of the time and tend to get swamped with tells each day with people asking if I'm making a group or asking me to come tank for em. Aggro isn't as easy as a Zerker, but it sure as heck isn't hard either. I do not lose aggro (at least not to scouts that know where thier detaunt hotkey is) and we plow through yellow and orange quests or mobs on a regular basis. I'm just coming up into T6 territory and cannot wait to see the rest of the content.

True I do have a few advantages that some SKs might lack. My wife plays a Fury that is also a Provisioner. So the buffs are awesome and the drink keeps me in power heaven. Plus we have a guild Ranger that groups with us almost daily and never peels aggro. Our class really is great at tanking and each day more people are seeing what a good class + players that know what they're doing can accomplish.

In closing I read the boards more then I post, but I enjoy the great SK community we have. A lot of helpful information has been posted and a lot of positive feedback has made my SK experience all the better. See you all in T6-T7!

Good to see the positives every now and then SMILEY But the class does need some work. Not in the tanking department, we can do that very well, and not in the group mob agro control department either, we are one of the best classes at handling group mobs. its the single target agro control, but anyone who plays an SK knows what I'm talking about, not gonna beat that horse heh.
Just wish they would look into it. Other then that, I absolutley love playing an SK also.

You know, alot of the perceived problems our class has (or doesn't for that matter) can be fixed with a smartly played group. We have all the tools at our disposal and if the group is doing what they should all will be well.I too am a happy SK again, and more and more my group members are complimenting me on a job well done. And I find I'm stomping more [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] in pvp due to increased confidence =P

Flower? Oh you mean the lacerated Gnome head. I knew I missed a body part somewhere. Little limbs get caught in the armor all the time. :smileywink:

Agreed my friend. I have just respeced my AA's for pure tanking. Going to see how that's going to work out for me =D. You're absolutly right though, a group of intellegent players makes a world of difference. I also tested out our Single target agro capabilites compared to a warrior and we are lacking there, but group agro control we have down pat. Taunt for taunt the guardian can out taunt us, but I honestly expected that  when me and my guardian buddy tried  our little test out. (That and we were having fun smoking the x3 that was walking around EFP).

I seem to group with alot of people with maxed lucanic knight faction, which means they are decked out in pvp reward gear. They are the worst ones to keep aggro off especially brigands with thier debuffs. My single target taunt is adept3 and my blasphemy is M2. I try to tell them just to wait a bit and let my heal over time stuff work lol. But tbh even on the yellow con cyclopsen in PoF tonight I think they were able to tank em as well as me lol. Uber [Removed for Content], only at 7k lucanic knight faction so the pvp gear is out of reach for me and I spend alot of time working on coin faction and trying to XP to get more spells. Should be getting tap veins tomorrow from guild crafter *crosses fingers*But yeah, our taunts could use a lil somethin. I'd gladly give up the dot bit on insidious whisper line for an improved initial hate gain =/

Hear Hear!!!

Im loving my SK too.
Have you noticed how they never change the SK's in the updates these days?
Could that be because they are so nicely balanced...some good points ... some bad points.

I'm certainly no hardcore raider so dont presume to press the SK case in that context.

I'm legendary kitted, can take all solo content with ease and can solo heroics 6 levels lower without too much trouble.
Im sure others can do better, but thats fun enough for me.  My scouts cant do anything like that.

I'm so glad certain other balance issues have been addressed.
It was downright demeaning playing Main Assist to a Conjurors pet, though this was mainly due to one of the "bad points" above in that they did do much damage they just rip aggro away.  Still, at least I died far less often than the Conjuror :smileytongue:

Typical order of death (in trio) = Conjuror pet / Conjuror / Healer / ... SK feign death and lives !! Hooray.

It should be noted that the Conjuror until recently was 6-12 levels higher at any given time *hrumph*  Now the gap is 2 im coming into my own :smileyhappy:

My main is a Conjurer, which I started playing with on opening day of EQ2. At first that class was horrid, but I stuck with it, now it's the FOTM class (Maybe even FOTY class ). That being said, I was working on the Claymore series in PoA when I ran across Pitty (70 SK-Najena). Now as a conjurer I can solo very well, so when I saw Pitty also soloing mobs he needed for the quests I was impressed that he was doing just fine in there. Eventually we grouped up and duo'd most of the content with ease.

Now I had played around with tank classes such as guardian, zerker, monk, bruiser, and pali--usually to level 20 or so, but none of them ever stuck or felt fun. So I decided to try a SK instead. Now my SK is level 53. He does indeed solo fine and grouping with him is fun. Is it more challenging sometimes? Heck ya, but that's why I like it. It's not a snooze fest of button mashing, it takes some planning and at times quick thinking. That's what I like about this class in general. It is challenging. Not frustratingly so, but in a fun way. So I'm onward to 70 with him and look forward to every level along the way. I'm glad I chose this class.

I always like to say that's because SKs are like Mary Poppins... "Pratically perfect in every way."
