Well iv been messing around with the new changes for SKs, and Overall i say .. I LIKE THEM!:smileyvery-happy:
 
Lifetaps are much Better, Power and HP wise
Unholy Blessing is amazing. it Heals + Aggroes + can be used on others to save them.
The 2 different Stances DO make a differance in ur Tank ability and ur DPS ability.
Soul Rend and Dest. Slam DO work on epics. plus their breif stunn on heroic down.
I Like the Skelly pet! .. short lived but he has strong DPS.
WOW .. Master Ruinious Touch comboed with Blashemy (-600 to dis resist) = 3200 point Touch, did it twice in 1 hr.
Buffs take only 1 Con slot .. i was full buffed and hase 1 slot LEFT open...
Power Consumption is Down .. Relitively seems like i got alot more power
Tainted Caress is nice .. the Damage Sheild + Hate increaser is helping me with group encounters.
Feign Death now works on any Lv and lasts 20 Secs .. Enough time for encounters to loose u and reset.
Dread Wrath might be long cast but is has a wicked snare effect .. 53%  ..
Tuants are CRAZY Fast now ... i can hit my HO macro and do full cycle in 1.5 sec ..
Insationable hunger now does 130ish dd with a 80 point heal on a 8% chance to proc. more life for me :smileytongue:
Whisper is now very potent. 700 hate + dot
Rescue is GOOD! moves u 3 positions and give 1900 hate.
 
 
I DID loose total HPs but power increased relitive to new system. my Aviodance, Mitigation and Stats are down, but that is across the board on all. Mobs also took a big hit on Mitigation so Attacks land better on them, and there HPs are down.

Imma Lv 50 Ogre SK, this is what i chose and why. as far as i can remember
 
Racial Traits
the +5 to Self Defense
the +5 stam
the +5 str
the +3% Hps
the +5 Def to Groupmate (to help the MT in raids as im usually MA)
 
Training (Now Master 2's)
Deminstration of Faith M2 (only spell line not replaced, SKs dont have wards any more)
the AE taunt
Disease Cloud M2 (has a decent DoT comonent in it for 25 power)
? forgot what i got on this one 8P
UNHOLY BLESSING! M2 .. 5x 100% reactive procs for 100ish damage + 170ish heal. thats 500 damage 750 heal for 106 power .. nice:smileymad:
 
Rages:
Knoll (SP and DoF)
Golum (Always golums >&ltSMILEY
Giant (Always Giants >
Skelly (see above )
Lizardman ( we do CT epic alot )
 
I must say .. So far im pleased. that is NOT saying they will nerf it to h3ll next week >

Well i played ALL night, like 10 hrs straight ...

Tanked in SE, PF, 2 Epicx2's, Solo Tanked, Duoed, parsed, and counted new drain lifes...

And I LIKE IT.. Switching beween stances is fast and smooth, i can hold Aggro better, alot of stuff i got makes aggro. Unholy Blessing, Vitae, and the other drain (forgot name, use to be a DD) make Soloing pretty EZ. i can still Solo a Blue Heroic.

GL Guys ..

PS. omg we own in PvP .. dont hurt them too bad 8P

I know I was thinking the same thing. Feel like an SK.
 
Dare I say it but I think it is a well balanced toon!
 
Please sony if you read this. Leave the SK's alone now, its a good job.
 
Just feared that if they see enough people happy in one class they might think they done too good a job!!!!

I think you are wrong about our stances I mean our def stance lucans pact was degraded a ton, and the offence stance is not worth it I would prefer to just stay in defence. I also took around 400 hp loss due to our hp pool being degraded. What the hell was that all about, and Another thing They said crusader classes going to have the lowest hp pool but the largest power pool of the fighter classes when my power pool did not increase 1 bit but yet my hp was lowered from 3126 to 2662 hp at lvl 36 I was very disipointed. I mean guardians should have the largest hp pool then sk then paly's due to guardians and sks were the main def heavy tank.  I mean as a SK the only thing I think that was a plus was our life taps proc a ton now which makes up for the loss in deffence we took, If you do not see the defensive loss we took let me break it down for you. My sk before patch had a 61% avoidance with 1 hander and shield now I have a 31% chance of avoidance my mitigation was 59% now I have no clue it list it as 1500 mitigation so not sure there. All i know is when I am tanking a grp of mobs now I take a hell of a beating and it makes the healer work when before I made the healers job easy unless we fighting a epic mob. I do have to say fighting a solo mob is easier due to our procs but if it was not for the frequency of the lifetaps we would get owned.
 
As a example I could solo a lvl 40 melee mob with pet and end fight with half power and full hp now I can solo a lvl 40 mob and end the fight with half hp and low on power but that is with out a pet. Also the fight is cutt in half now it would take me almost 2 min to fight a mob that much higher in lvl then me but i would go deffence and just mitgate dmg now it doesn't matter I take so much dmg it is sick and the only thing keeping me in fight is my dps is higher now and the lifetaps. I put it to the test and foguht a lvl 40 single up heroic mob ended fight with lop 50% hp and took 3 pets since our pets only last 30 sec. I say we are stronger over all but I would say we are not a main tank anymore due to our dmg mitigation is so low. I will update once I can find someone to duel me and test our pvp skills.

All Tanks took a DPS hit, Sks came out on the good side .. trust me, ask a Guardian. The stances given, NO Stance =0value, Grim sword parses a +17% DPS increase and Circle parses a  -20ish% reduction on incoming damage. that is a 37ish % swing. or so says my parser over fights of 5 mins...

about ur power pool, Have u looked at other Tanks?.. i saw a Lv 50 monk and i had 30% more power than him, altho he did have some more HPs. Its all relitive to the other classes.

 

Mitigation and Avoidance is Down across the board as well, Good thing too, ,, this game is  was way to EZ...:smileytongue:

and besides, Mob DPS has been reduced also.

 

The Mob u were fighting?.. Was it a Heroic Mob or a Solo mob?..  Cuz Heroics should need groups .. period, thats what they were desighned for, there is no such thing as a "Solo Heroic"..

 

The changes encourage grouping more, and without groups and better roles. a MMO will die

Yummy-  you stink like rotten bologna sandwiches left in the hot sun.  and your momma never loved you. only gave my SK a chance for about a half hour tonight.  was generally dissapointed by the new changes, but after reading the posts, i think i just need to re-learn the way i play the toon.  we'll see how it goes. i do know though that i am getting a bit tired of SOE's sweeping and fairly drastic game changes.  i've been playing since launch and have had to re-learn how i play several times now.  for people who make EQ2 more of a lifestyle of sorts, this isn't a big deal obviously.  but i mostly just care to have fun.  the heavy changes make the game more of a chore than enjoyable to play sometimes. oh and one of the things i do see as being unfair though, having spells eliminated that i paid fair and square to upgrade.  feels like being robbed. Yummy If your read my post I said our dps increased what I said took a hit is our def and hp and tanking ability, I mean guardians took a simliar hit but not nbearly as bad as us sk's and I am going off what soe originaly had sk's and gurdians for main heavy tanks and now it is hard to fullfill that we are more off to be a off tank and a dps tank now our dps jumped a tremendous amount. So just make sure you understand what is posted before jumping on someone that post.

So before the changes you could solo a lvl 40 mob at level 36 and end up with full health at the end. Don't you see the problem with that?

The problem is now SK's can not mitigate the dmg as well anymore like they were ment to do. Now the fights are half the time but we take twice the dmg. Before patch it took almost 2 min to fight a mob that strong. But then again I had over 3100hp and a 61% avoidance and a 58% mitigation at 36 due to gear and stats. I was a true tank all defense and low dmg output but now No matter what I do i have more dmg output and I can not get my defense up to being close to what it was. So now we are not a true tank anymore like soe planned from the begining.  So now do you see my problem with what soe did to guardians and sk's which were ment to be the heavy tanks and zerks and bruisers/monks your dps tanks. Why would a light armor wearing dps tank have more hp then the def heavy tank or a zerk that has no def capibility what so ever have more then us guardians or sks's. and what can you say about paly's they are a utility tanks. But I do not see it like that anymore soe has done the typical here is what we want from game and here is what you get and we will fix things later LOL.
 
And if you want to say other classes can not solo mobs that high lvl it is due to they are all dmg based classes if they could keep the mob off them they would kill it fast. hense the meaning for a tank to sit there and be your meat shield while you do all the work to kill the mob.
