![]() Hi, I'm just curious as to what everyone's Mitigation and Avoidance numbers are. How do we compare to each other, and other tank classes? I believe my numbers were Level 27 SK - 1200+ and 55% unbuffed. With Zarn's Deadly Aura (Knight's Stance Upgrade), those numbers didn't change much, maybe +50 and +1%. |

![]() lvl 35 with the same spells up and a 100 in agility gave me a 1550 mit and 62.9% avoidance with a kite shield on. As a side note my 37 INQ friend has similar gear but much less agi had a much higher mit but only an avoidance around 55%. My stats have looked low against some other peoples but I haven't seen it affect me. I can solo multiple yellow and even nighbloods that are lvl 40. This may be because these mobs are easy for con or because of our lifetaps. Either way I haven't really sweet it to much. On a side note...I always suspected our buffs were marginal at best. Since the stat changes I've pretty much confirmed that. At one point yesterday I actually saw a stat go BACKWARDS after I cast one of our avoid/mit buffs. At this point I'm going all offensive buffs and wards only.

I was curious about this myself. My wife is an inquisitor and we have almost identical gear other than I have a Kite shield and she only has an orb. Both of us at level 30 and she had a higher mitigation than I did, completely unbuffed. /boggle

![]() "other than I have a Kite shield and she only has an orb." Do shields increase mitigation or avoidance? Could it be the orb gives a slight amount of mitigation while your shield gives a lot more avoidance?

![]() From what I know mitigations are directly effect by your armor. Add your total armor mitigation together = to your totaly mitigation. Mitigation buffs also effects it. Note: Shield won't give you any mitigation, it is now a shield factor, which is same back in beta (?) i think, which determines the chance you'll block the incoming attack. Avoidance on the other hand is effected by your shield (block rate (%)), defense skill, parry skill, deflection (which only monk has), their total average.. and then modify with agility *shrug* which only effect your base avoidance. So....break this down into: Agility + Defense skill : Base avoidance Parry skill : Parry rate Shield Factor : Block rate (Use shield skill buff will benefit you using a shield as a higher lvl character) Deflection : Monk only skill, need some input on this. |

![]() Moorgard said recently that now the avoidance and mitigation numbers are visible it has become evident there is a problem. He said that they will probably changing how the system works the bring them more in line with each other. So I wouldn't go through too much trouble measuring the difference now. Ishnar

Would you happen to have a link to that thread handy, Ishnar? I would like to read his comments in context
