![]() I've seen a few SK's that intend on getting the heritage item the Shiny Brass Halberd. It seems like it would fit our profile very well and it is a very powerful weapon (upwards 130 damage at 2.2 delay). Why am I warning you to not get it then? Its a Great Spear. Yes, the halberd is a bloody great spear. We can't even use it. Ah well. Just thought I'd share that with y'all so you dont make the same mistake I did =). I guess most of us expected it to be a Great Axe anyway, which we couldnt use either. For some reason I started it thinking a Shadowknight should be able to use that weapon. Oh well =P Message Edited by Draxis on 12-08-2004 05:26 AM

![]() A heritage item is a rather lengthy multi-part quest to recieve an item from EverQuest 1. A few examples are: Greater Lightstone, Shiny Brass Halberd, Ghoulbane, Journeyman Boots, Manastone, Flowing Black Silk Sash, etc etc etc. All of these were originally popular items from EverQuest. In EQ2, you can get these items again - and this time theyre significantly more powerful in most cases. From my experience it also seems you start off much of the time by recieving a weaker version and slowly power it up by continueing the heritage quest. For example, a dimly lit lightstone is powered up, eventually its glimmering, and finally a Greater Lightstone of emmense power. A very, very, very good neck item. The Shiny Brass Halberd was a typical SK weapon from EQ1 as we were pretty much the exclusive 2hander class of the game along side much of the paladin population. However, neither Paladins nor Shadowknights can use Great Spears in EQ2 therefor cannot use the Shiny Brass Halberd. As far as the Ghoulbane goes, I believe its a 1hander but would LOVE to see it's stats. Has a Shadowknight successfully spoken to the NPC in qeynos needed to start this quest? I don't want to run to Qeynos if I'm not going to be able to sneak to him and actually get the quest =)

![]() Yeah I am still a bit peeved that we can't use the Shiny Brass Halbred. As for the the Ghoulbane that would be hillarious if Shadowknights could use it. I am still wondering what they are going to do in regards to Soulfire and The Fiery Avenger. I have yet to see an item that is class specific. Would be too ironic to see a Shadowknight wielding any one of these three swords.... tough Lucan is wielding the Soulfire currently....

The Soulfire isn't a holy weapon and never was. The lore behind it is that it consumes the souls of the fallen, but it was typically weilded by the most powerful knights of history - Shadowknights and Paladins. You are correct in that Lucan, a Shadowknight and Liche, is weilding the soulfire currently. He took it from the corpse of the Avatar of Flame, who came to weild it after the paladin of EQLive relenquished it unto the planes. ![]() Lucan however is not the first Shadowknight to weild the weapon and its become much more powerful over the decades as its consumed the souls of the fallen. I made another thread on these forums giving more details from the lore I've read and noted that it would be quite ironic if it were to be our epic weapon.

Could you please tell me at what level and what location you got the blade? I been trying to get a hold of this quest. As far as i understand its the floating blade in Stormhold, on top of the stairs/pillar. However i've heard something about the chessboard-room, but hasnt found anything there.

![]() Very odd indeed. As to myself. I miss my bow and arrow. A very useful item it was. Sigh.

![]() Yea, bow and arrow will be missed. However, I have to admit - its uses would be very limited considering our ranged arsenal and the way EQ2 seems to work. Heck, I still wish I had it though =) Was fun and provided welcome stats =p

![]() Never saw why knights could use bows in Everquest 1, I was actually very surprized we could. A True knight would consider themselves above such "cowardly" weapons, They would not lower themselves too using one evil or not. If you disagree manybe you should go roll a warrior.... No idea why we shouldnt be allowed to use a halbred though, its more of an axe than a spear. and we can use lances yes? really dont see a difference.
