My guild has ran Labs weekly for months, and they have never dropped them. Mostly the crappy Legendary chest.

Dropped the trio again last night. It dropped the excarnate wrists.

G R O A N ! ! !

If it's gonna drop excarnate, why not the legs? And why drop something that's gotten off lab trash? This is a named. This is SO FRUSTRATING! Henceforth, I'm going to create a petition or bug report every time it doesnt drop. I have been raiding labs every week since 2 months after KoS came out, and the 57 DW has dropped twice, and the 63 DW has NEVER dropped. In fact, when I get home tonight, Im going to petition it. I'm sick of going in there week after week, and not getting my calamity. And Lord help me if the 57 drops.

Actually, you are incorrect in that statement.  After making my observation, I tracked down someone with better knowledge of how it works and asked them.  They responsded that I was correct with the observation.  Basically mitigate the risk of the encounter by spliting it up, you mitigate the potential reward as well.

Let me make a clarification on "splitting", in case this goes off the deep end. "Splitting" an encounter normally means killing part of a group of mobs, and wiping or feigning off the rest so you can re-engage to finish the remainder off more easily. You can do that on non-epic encounters. But on epic encounters, you dont get a chest if you "split".

In the case of the doom trio, guilds frequently "split" them, but they mean 3 tanks are tanking separately in the raid. So it's really being fought still as one encounter.

Exactly.

In one instance, I off-tanked the doom prophet while the MT tanked the ravager and the reaver.

Once they were down, I "passed" the prophet over to the MT.

Same encounter - no fail - got a master off the trio - and only time I ever seen the high DR calamities.  :smileysad:

my guild usually has MT on reaver/ravager. another tank on prophet. we've seen 1 63 calamity. and ~4 legendary out of 6, maybe 7 kills. (other steel was shaman sticker and belt) mostly bracers that we already have lots of.

Have the devs ever stated anything about making fabled drop more off x4's?Because I don't understand why the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] legendary boxes drop 9/10 times and the other 1/10 usually isnt a calamity. It would be nice if we could get some type of response about this.

Finally had one of them drop last night (the 57 DR/debuff one).  Looking forward to another 3-4 month wait for the high DR one, lol.

No, by splitting i mean kill one, wipe / leash the remaining mobs and let the encounter go back, then pull the other 2 and kill them.  That will lower your chances of getting a metal chest.  And for those folks who I know will post that i'm full of it, I offer you this nugget to choke on. :p
