Hello my brothers and sisters

I was wondering how you all maintained agro while tanking in the high lvls? What I mean is now that I am seeing more people haveing there achements maxed out and, the dps classes/heal classes haveing there crits maxed (for both damage and healing). How do you maintain control?

When I take on a group encounter I alrdy stance dance/go from mob to mob trying to maintain agro but, lord help the Fury I group with when he crits off a group regen. I end up trying to spam/ go offensive trying to peal them off.

Also to note I do have A3/M1/M2 of my taunts and dragon stance

Do you think we need another AE taunt or, would somthing else be better?

Seeking your help

upgrade your CA's, do more damage to the encounter. damage = aggro.

upgrade your weapons (might be hard, but it helps)

and tell the fury not to spam heal

I find it easy to control agro if you first pull with single target taunt then change target to the next enemy in the encounter. After that cast your group taunt then use crescent strike to gather up some ae agro. By then your single target taunt will back up so you can quick tab and cast it on the mob you taunted first. After that quick tab back to the previous target and just burn the mob down. By time he is dead you will have 4,000-5,000 hate built up on the 2nd enemy in the encounter. For group of 3 or more I like to throw in a dragon breath to help hold agro on all the mobs.

aside from upgrading all ur taunts to adept 3 or master 1, just repeatedly taunt every time it comes up and dmg like mad. If you have a grp dotter like a conjurer or warlock then ur pretty much screwed for grp mob herotics.

Well, in T7 mobs at least I found out, if there is more than 2 enemies, if they are grouped, pulling with Area taunt followed by a nice Area Attack, can hold aggro for long time.On the other hand Dragon Stance line which 50% chance to add X amount of hate for each hit also seriously helpful. If mobs are not grouped, Area Attack and hitting a few times each mob with Dragon Stance would be helpful enough. But ofcourse tell your Fury, not to nuke madly or heal you while you were still 90% SMILEY

Hehe if anything recently I've need agro control in the opposite direction.  With 8 points of Relentless Punches at level 64, the only way I could fight without stealing agro from a level 70 pally recently was to not use any of our high-damage combat arts at all!

So to be the main tank in a group, I don't find it hard to hold agro.  As was said above, DPS counts for a lot when you have a smaller number of taunts than, say, a Guardian.  Just pump out the damage and hit your taunts every time they reset.  Barehand AAs help a lot, in my opinion SMILEY

Warlocks can steal agro every time, though...[Removed for Content] Warlocks!

What he said. Using the str line help a lot with aggro control. Timing your stuns and going all out (off stance + everburning blaze) at the beginning of th fight will help you. Concerning our warlocks friends... well... just tab, tab, and tab again through the mobs lol. It need a lot of work to keep aggro off them without a bard or a coercer, but you're sure that you won't get bored :smileyvery-happy:

Even with Adept III/Master lvl taunts I find it hard to keep aggro against group encounters when my Fury uses his AE's.  I've gotten used to cycling targets and getting a few swings in on each mob to build hate through the Dragon Stance line...and using taunts when they are available of course.  As long as I can do that before he drops his AE I'm fine.  If I do find myself tanking for a group I usually inform them that I do alot of target cyclying so therefore ask that they target through me and let me get a few swings in before using their AoE's.  Single targets are never a problem.
