I just got Focus Rage the other night.  Since then I've noticed that every time it procs, the mob I'm fighting usually takes off running like it was feared.  I'm soloing so I know that no one cast a fear spell.  Odd thing is, this only seems to happen to undead.  Zombies in FG, skellies in CL both run off when Focus Rage procs, but vulrich in CL do not.  It doesn't happen all the time, just the majority of the time.

What use is this spell if it makes your target run off?  It disrupts the encounter.

Focus rage is broken right?

meant to increase damage and attack rate (haste/speed of attacks)
all i've seen is speed increase... meaning more attacks but no damage increase...

maybe the undead problem is yet another bug...

Looking at the new examine info on the skill, it only raises damage 5% and about 35% haste.  5% isn't something easily seen on the numbers.

I'm fairly certain that focus rage is the skill that enables you to berserk.. At level 50 i constantly have focus rage up even while tanking.. and notice that my berserk % goes way up compared to when its down.. hope that helps.. It might have some other effects but that's teh only reason i really use it..

Not to be rude, but how could a level 50 berserker not know how Focus Rage works?
It is a concentration buff that "procs" on occasion while taking damage.....it offers no benefits unless it procs, it does not proc unless you are taking damage.

Yes, I know that.. and yes that was rude fool!.

I might have been a bit unclear in my post.. But I said the only reason I use it is for the Berserk it causes.. Its  up 24/7.. I was tryin to help the person who asked about the buff.. sorry if I cant recall the exact wording on that level 20 buff description from work..

The only problem with Focused Rage i see is that when proc goes off it "casts" instead of just instazerk like other berserk chance spells.... That hurts our dps esp when it goes off like crazy.... Hopefully they will fix that and make it like other spells and just instazerk ..... Besides that it is a must when tankingGood agroStrykr Destructicus41 Berserker

I have noticed that this is probably one of the single most important line of Berserk arts. For me when I get hit I 'automatically' go in berserk status, not all the time but I would say at least 90%. Since I cannot find an upgrade to it I decided to make it an Adept 3. Now it goes off whenever I get hit it seems like. This in combonation with other 'Zerk' procs makes me an aggro machine. I keep it up all the time and refresh it when I log on. I would say it is the best use of money for a combat upgrade that I have done.

I have found that using focus rage in conjunction with fury is a waste of time.

Like the above poster says, all it does is proc, but doesn't give any damage or anything, just keeps you from attacking becuase you keep procing.

Very frustrating.

Yeap, I'm a level 41 Zerker and i dont think I've used focus rage more then a few times since i hit maybe... 25.

The skill is useless, it goes off constantly, making you raise your hand in the air for about 2-3 seconds, and if it procs 3-4-5 times in a row, thats about 10-15 seconds that your doing nothing but glowing red and raising your hand.

Not sure if using a skill stops the hand rasing, but even if it does, your still wasting time raising your hand during the fight.  Being berzerk 100% of the time isn't gonna make your dps go that much higher, because at around 37+ you have a base haste from Tides + Screaming Fury of about 55%, then toss in Zerk for say, 50% of the fight, which is doable without focus rage.  That brings your average haste for the fight to 55% base + (38%(average bonus from skills that make you zerk) /2 (50% of the fight)) = 74% haste.

At 100% zerk rate during the fight,  your only looking at 55% + 38%= 93%... 93%(average with focus rage)-74%(average without focus rage) = 19% difference in haste, not to mention it doesn't haste your skills at all, those have their own timer, so you probbly wont even notice 19% at all, and you save all that time from raising your hand, making your Dps HIGHER withought using focus rage.

Hope that makes sence, just woke up and i'm having a hard time putting my thoughts to words this morning SMILEY

Just got focus rage, been playing with it the better part of the day. The standing with my hands in the air buff is indeed annoying but like Knockdown and many other animations doesnt seem to actually stop you from attacking. So while you are seeing your character standing there pumping iron like Arnold I'm pretty sure he's still happily wailing away on the monster.Of course this could just be lag on my part or some weird timing bug, but I doubt it. Regardless, I must throw my 2 cents in and say that the effect could be achieved just as well with just the red glow and not messing with the animation portion of it after all I think everyone would agree with me that we'd much rather be seeing ourselves doing combat animations than this animation. On a side note, I had some weird idea that berserk state lowered your defense....I'm quite ecstatic that it is only a positive buff.

Not sure on the Zerk state lowering AC.  I can't tell either way, sometimes it feels like i get pummeled with it on, other times i dont.

From reading various descriptions now on berserk state, it no longer has the defense loss for atk and haste like it was thought to have which is a huge pls for berserkers....

2 things. 1st of all focus rage has absolutely nothing to do with mobs running away. It happens fairly often with nek mobs. Ive never had it happen once ever in FG on the zombies, although I suppose the running away bug could happen there too. Although it has no relation to the focus rage skill.

2nd it saddens me to see high level berserkers who do not even know their own class. Focus rage is a berserker staple skill. NOT using this, is causing you to sacrifice somewhere in the neighbourhood of 20% of your overall total DPS (using APP1 version of this skill). Sad it is! When focus rage procs, YES you raise your arm, however, it does not stop you from attacking! It is simply an animation. You can, and will, still strike mobs and perform attacks during the "animation". How can you people not know this? good god.
