I'm finding it very annoying that I have to cancel my horse just so I can escape a fight. If they would let it sprint at the same speed as you normally would it would be fine. It wouldn't unbalance anything because it wouldn't go faster than a pedestrian would while sprinting.

allow horses to benefit from Jboots as well.

I don't see the problem, the horse runs exactly as fast as a person sprinting from the tests i've done. If you're saying you can't get away from battles because you can't sprint while on the horse....try /yell, break the encounter and just run away on the horse, at sprint speed with no power wasted.

It's the same speed as sprint, faster than sow, but slower than someone WITH sow and sprinting.

I outrun everyone, even those with Jboots in a group. Also people with spells that enchance speed. They might be faster when they spint - but how much power do you have left when you decide to run? I have jack **ZOMG**...

I have yet to have problems getting away from mobs while on horse back. I do sometimes get hit by faster moving ones...but normaly they are trying to stun me SMILEY woohoo for high resists lol. Its faster then sow, and prety close if not the same as sprint. No need for horse and sprint.

I have always been able to "run" while on horseback as long as I break the encounter..  I do have to take a few extra hits initially before I get to "extended melee" range where they hit you but it does no actual damage.

Horse is NOT as fast as sprint by any means, but uses no power as you escape..

Sprinting on the horse works as long as you are not engaged in the encounter.

It works, but does not speed you up.. this is the problem.. (it just wastes power)  I tested this along side another SK and we rode side by side even though I hit sprint while on horseback.

It's the anti-kiting procedure that's in the game, which is why you cannot 'get away' from them. You _must_ /yell, and thus break the reward for the encounter. Doing this and canceling your attack will let you resume your 'speedy escape', which is a lot easier on horseback and less draining powerwise. If I "must" sprint, merely a bub and half of power is all that is necessary to get you out of slamming range by persuing mobs.

It's a travel luxury, nothing more. Once you hit that 'combat' button, all speed goes out the window. Otherwise the critters will follow very close to you, relentlessly, until that /yell is slammed.

If you're say, running through Nek and happened to get aggro'd, and haven't engaged anything, a brief sprint is more than enough to get away from anything in there. Half the time I don't even hit the sprint key(not attacking=back to full speed, even if you have aggro chasing/hitting once in a while). /yell is also beneficial in you re-max your power/health regen...otherwise it's at the normal sluggish combat regenning we all know.
