<DIV>I'm finding it very annoying that I have to cancel my horse just so I can escape a fight. If they would let it sprint at the same speed as you normally would it would be fine. It wouldn't unbalance anything because it wouldn't go faster than a pedestrian would while sprinting.</DIV>

cocoa_boy 11-26-2004 07:36 AM

<DIV>agreed. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>allow horses to benefit from Jboots as well.</DIV>

<DIV>im  going to be a shadowknight soon and i need to know whats my trainers name or where do i find  the hermet crab i never see him?</DIV>

Panat 11-26-2004 11:59 AM

<DIV>I don't see the problem, the horse runs exactly as fast as a person sprinting from the tests i've done. If you're saying you can't get away from battles because you can't sprint while on the horse....try /yell, break the encounter and just run away on the horse, at sprint speed with no power wasted.</DIV>

PlumpPython 11-26-2004 02:55 PM

<DIV>Are you sure Panatha? I have serious problems trying to get away on horseback that I never had on foot.</DIV>

<DIV>I seem to be able to keep up with someone who has the spirit of the wolf buff. I dont know why u find it so slow m8.</DIV>

swampthing 11-26-2004 05:49 PM

It's the same speed as sprint, faster than sow, but slower than someone WITH sow and sprinting.

Tyd 11-26-2004 07:53 PM

<DIV>I outrun everyone, even those with Jboots in a group. Also people with spells that enchance speed. They might be faster when they spint - but how much power do you have left when you decide to run? I have jack **ZOMG**...</DIV>

IBSomnifer 11-26-2004 08:23 PM

I have yet to have problems getting away from mobs while on horse back. I do sometimes get hit by faster moving ones...but normaly they are trying to stun me <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> woohoo for high resists lol. Its faster then sow, and prety close if not the same as sprint. No need for horse and sprint.

<DIV>I have always been able to "run" while on horseback as long as I break the encounter..  I do have to take a few extra hits initially before I get to "extended melee" range where they hit you but it does no actual damage.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Horse is NOT as fast as sprint by any means, but uses no power as you escape..</DIV>

Wigglodam 11-27-2004 04:36 AM

<DIV>The horse is fine stop bringing it up before it gets "fixed."  </DIV>

EvilHarbing 11-27-2004 11:57 PM

<DIV>Sprinting on the horse works as long as you are not engaged in the encounter.</DIV>

(it just wastes power)  I tested this along side another SK and we rode side by side even though I hit sprint while on horseback.

<DIV>It's the anti-kiting procedure that's in the game, which is why you cannot 'get away' from them. You _must_ /yell, and thus break the reward for the encounter. Doing this and canceling your attack will let you resume your 'speedy escape', which is a lot easier on horseback and less draining powerwise. If I "must" sprint, merely a bub and half of power is all that is necessary to get you out of slamming range by persuing mobs. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's a travel luxury, nothing more. Once you hit that 'combat' button, all speed goes out the window. Otherwise the critters will follow very close to you, relentlessly, until that /yell is slammed. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you're say, running through Nek and happened to get aggro'd, and haven't engaged anything, a brief sprint is more than enough to get away from anything in there. Half the time I don't even hit the sprint key(not attacking=back to full speed, even if you have aggro chasing/hitting once in a while). /yell is also beneficial in you re-max your power/health regen...otherwise it's at the normal sluggish combat regenning we all know. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Baluka, 27th Kerran SK, Neriak</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>"Housebroken and will tank for food."</DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
