Cheap Shot does no good in helping you get stealthed if you have multiple mobs on you...as in the case of an add. it does work if your timing is right. stealth only breaks if something hits you. i use this tactic when i solo 4-5 pulls of underbrush feinds. 1st mob is dead before it hits me from arrow attacks. second mob is targeted and use crippling arrow on it cause you can move while casting it. melee that one down with all your frontal attacks. 3rd mob you need to time cheapshot if there is 4 or more mobs. use it just after you are hit by the remaining mobs. then use invis attacks. if you time it right it can be done. i succeed about 80% of the time. playing a ranger is 50% timing and 50% finese. we are no longer a DPS class we are a timing/finese class bongo
What game are you playing, anyway? I apologize in advance, because this post is going to be out of character for me. I know how to use Cheap Shot just fine. I don't need any instructions. If you achieve 80% success rate getting stealthed while fighting a group of mobs, then congratulations. But you are using a single scenario as an example and making it seem as if you can apply it to every scenario. Yes it works if you can kill one or two of them before they get to you. But if you get an add of a 4 or 5 mob encounter, all beating on you at the same time, getting stealthed is nearly impossible. Sure, after you get a couple of them down, it becomes doable. But the difficulty lies in getting those first couple down. After that anything is manageable because we are generally creative enough to come up with a strategy to win. But just how much health did we lose while all 5 were beating on us. Three mobs is much easier than 5, but if you've only got a couple hundred HP's left, your chances aren't very good. I know I've rambled a bit, but you should get my point. I think the OP had add situations in mind. Not planned pulls. The two situations are very different, and the strategies for one will not always necessarily work for the other. Message Edited by Zholain on 11-10-2005 10:27 AM
