that's cool about the message and the spells.  however you can tell if a feign fails atm by seeing if your self buffs are still up <div></div>

yes, i remember that.  i had it macro'd : /useab feign death  /clutch /*whatever the command was to show your value*.  however the dev mssg says you get the "fallen to the ground" on a failed feign, it doesn't say anything about a winning fd value.  this being the case, it's the same info you get from watching your self buffs poof. <div></div>

<P>Hmmm....I always just watched the mobs agro rings (around their name). If it dissappears your successful...if it doesn't you just laid down to die...lol</P>

Feign Death changes:  - Maintained spells and pets are no longer cancelled on a successful feign. Bout time!!! Pets? Are they talking about the little mushroom guy?- You cannot issue commands to your pet while feigned, though you can still bring up a list of commands. Again Pets??- You cannot gain adventure experience while successfully feigned. This is fine, but what about quest advancement? - If feign fails, you now receive a "fallen to the ground" message. As it should have been from the start. Soloing, it isnt to hard to see at a glance if your personal buffs are off, but inna group it can be hard sometimes. Getting a message when it does work is nice.Kakarot50 Monk Kithikor

am i the only one that thinks that sounds silly ?  yes, group fd would be handy.  very handy.  but i just can't see it as something a monk would/could do.  sounds more along the lines of a necro type ability.  i just can't picture a monk saying "ok, everyone lay down, it'll think we're dead.  just do like i do, i'm a professional".  yeah i know you all are prolly thrilled about it, and i'm sure i'll use the heck out of it too, but to me it makes about as much sense as a group lunging mongoose ca.  "ok, everyone hit the mob a bunch of times, it'll do cool damage.  just do like i do, i'm a professional" heh. <div></div>

<DIV>I think the group FD is a horrible idea, but it may prove to be useful when grouping with a bunch of newbies, "Ok kiddies, nap time.." </DIV>

Think of it as your chi becoming so strong that it influences those around you. Or think of it as a great way to really annoy people. "Oochi...could you arrrghhh.... Please stop....aggghhhhh!  Killing us?" "Shhh, we dead!" <div></div>

This sounds silly huh? Did you miss the fact that this is a fantasy game? We get invis also remember? We can't expect us to be like shaolin monks or something. <div></div>

<span>yes, it sounds silly to me.  as far as invis goes, i can see it, heh.  monk is so focused or whatever he alters his karma or something to disappear.  it takes a great deal of concentration, so it drains his chi, or pwr.  i just don't see a monk being able to do something like that (fd) to a group.  and yes, it's a fantasy game, but you hafta draw the line somewhere.  i didn't like PoI in eq, because i think that crossed the line, and was silly.  i mean, mechanical golems ?  spiders ?  they can't even make stuff like that irl.   they spend millions of $$ on a remote control car with a lil grabby-hook on it, that gets stuck on a lil rock.  if the gnomes can make battle droids, why couldn't they hook me up with a gnomish machine gun ?  i'm not complaining about recieving this ability, ppl will love me for it.  it just doesn't fit the monk motif imo.  and yes, they made eq/eq2 monks to be like shaolin monks.  monks in many other games are healers.  shaolin monk = dbl back-flip kick.  eq2 monk = dbl back-flip kick.<blockquote><hr>Lareal wrote:This sounds silly huh? It's not lame.  It's necessary.  In EQ1 necros could take out a tough mob (forget the name) by charming his buddies, telling them to attack then feigning and getting xp while feigned.  Pet classes will undoubtedly abuse this now that they keep their pets with a successful feign.

If rogues can smuggle their group, dont see why monks cant FD theirs.

<DIV>The backstory of the EQ2 monks is that their combat style is a mixture of might and magic, so invis and group feign should be perfectly fine.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But if you really need justification, maybe the monk spins around and touches a "feign death" pressure point on each groupmate just before collapsing himself <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
