The topic says it all. Its sucks and SOE should be ashamed to deliver such a crap quality to us.

Unplayable Zones, stutter stutter stutter........

We have 3 good computers in our family, on all 3 these two zones are unplayable.

Its sucks, yes honestly it really sucks to find more and more bugs in this game everyday after our long break from EQ2.....

It may work, it may not... but it's an easy check and won't hurt to try it.

Its simply bugged game code.... EQ2´s engine is so old that no developer has enough will to fix the leaks. i think i can understand that somehow, if EQ2 wouldnt make millions of $$$$$ every month.

Try reducing your resolution. I have a quad with 8 gigs of ram and top of the line card, and I find I have to reduce my resolution to avoid the lags and stutters. Stepping down one notch on resolution does not ruin the game quality I found, but increase my performance.

The other quick fix to try, is in your options section, make sure shadows are set to GPU reliant not CPU -- it makes a huge difference in performance. (Unless that was the thing they removed recently, don't think it is .. when I tried it, major difference for me).

This seems hit or miss. My wife can hardly play in Ykesha due to lag, but I can play fine everywhere except near where the Greenmist guys are. Her comp is slightly better than the one I use for EQ2 and they have the same graphics cards with most of the settings being nearly identical. It isn't a new thing either, it's been this way for a while. /shrug

KJ is fine, i get no leaks at all there.

KJ stutters for me when I revive there. It does it on two different pc's. After I revive and then move I drop to 2-4 fps. If I wait 30-60secs and try to move again it will stutter and then the frame rate will jump back to normal until I die again.

Silat

These zones are the worst performing and have been this way ever since they were brought to the game. No idea why, but it's terrible.

Oh I think Tim Deep wins "worst zone ever" award hands down -- given so many people get stuck there and cannot log their toons back in.

I have always had trouble with KJ and Moors. What I find helpful: turn off flora, shadows to GPU (as a previous poster mentioned), and a reduction in texture quality. Also, if all else fails I turn off particles completely.

What matters is tat you get your wallet out and pay for something in the market place.

Hey look, my zone crashed but take a look at that awesome fish in the SC ! I must have that !

Oh and believe or not, there are a couple idiots on this forum who actually support this model.

Interesting post since when i claimed that bad performance was a major issue, may be the Major issue, i got a hord of fanatic replying that my PC as not good enough. We all know that even on a top computer, areas designed to be run on computers from 2006 dove have perfomance issues.

To the OP, you may want to give some more information about your system. The TSR's start there when troubleshooting. I usually do not have much lag in those zones myself unless there are close to 100 people in the zone and then it is only in the local area of where they are.

to make one thing clear.

I am network administrator for a huge worldwide IT-company, i built hundreds of PCs in the past years, i know "almost" everything about Windows 95 up to X64 Win7, otimizing, tweaking the registry manually. We tested different NVidia drivers from 2009 until todays latest. There arent any backround process´s running.
I can't even play in kunark zones for an hour before eq2 locks up and just closes with no error message. Lots of stuttering and lag in these zones for me. I do not experience this issue in other zones I have been in so far while leveling up to 73.
