Game not launching

<p>Launchpad works fine, did the update, but now if I click play, launchpad closes as it's supposed to, everquest2.exe opens and then disappears off task manager after about 5 seconds and nothing happens. The game isn't starting.  I've tried to relaunch a number of times.  The game is working on my old xp system, but on my new windows 7 nothing happens. Any ideas?</p>

<p>Make sure you are running it as an admin by right-clicking the game icon and selecting Run as Admin.</p>

<p>i have done the same repeatedly  i have windows 7  and have gone through the right clicking to admin an launches launch pad and does same thing press play and game does not come up it dissapears and nothing happens what do if it still wont launch the game to play after that i have done this several several time trying togo as admin. still same nothing happens</p>

<p>Looks like you are using an older patcher, make sure you are using our latest LaunchPad.  I recommend the full version, install a new copy, re-use your existing EQII game folder.</p><p><a href="http://launch.soe.com/eq2" target="_blank">[EQII] LaunchPad</a></p>

<p>I am having the same issue, just sign in get to say play and launcher goes away and nothing starts...</p><p>should I download again?</p>

Please launch the game from the patcher.</p><p>I got the last Launchpad, I tried in admin mode, nothing is working. Always the same error message.</p><p>Arg, next time if I find some way to bypass the update and wait to see if it's ok to have it.</p><p>It's not the first time, even if it's the first that I post about it.</p><p>please find us a way to play and no stupid answer, like shut donw your PC or our modem ... (even if I tried it, one don't know what he have to do to make all works <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" />)</p>

<p>Same here.  I played fine yesterday (Friday, 26th) but cannot get on today.   Game gets to Character Select, and when I hit play, it starts the game and then nothing.   I do get a disconnect window.   I've tried clearing catch, I do run it as administrator, nothing working.   Any suggestions?  Must say I am really getting frustrated.   Took me 8 hours yesterday to reset aa's on 3 toons. </p>

<p>sorry for my last post, perhaps I was a bit annoyed.</p><p>It's the only day I can play the the whole day and I couldn't.</p><p>I download the entire game in a new directory and it's working now.</p><p>Perhaps there is a incompatibility with old player directory, mine is from the begining of EQ2.</p><p>So re-downloading all the game in a new directory a copying my characters from the old directory to the new to don't lost lod my characters configuration worked well.</p><p>After several hours of download, that was the price to pay.</p><p>I hope that it will help people witch had the same problem I had.</p><p>cheers</p>

<p>I too was having problems logging, but noticed it was with the toons that had logged out in the guildhall. Turns out, some of the guildhalls are broken, so try logging a toon that you know that's not parked inside your guildhall. Good luck!</p>

<p>sighs   i have the new version and i redown loaded it any way using the existing and still is not letting game launch  and solution can not be same answer you give for every one  " dl newer launcher "  i have it alredy   tryed running it in admin mode and out of admin mode nothing can not get game to launch.</p>

<p>Still cannot get in after days and days of trying and been in contact with tech support the whole time. Played until 10 minutes before a patch the other day and not at all since.  Giving me the error:</p><p>EverQuest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.</p><p><verify> G:liveeq2gameClientsrcClientApp.cpp (4055): Failed to open streaming asset database. OpenResult=-10 004161f1 010355fc</p><p>It does this on all of my computers since that patch and they all worked fine before it. Getting very frustrated and upset that I am paying for a game I cannot play. Losing hope too...</p>

<p>Ok, Still getting that same exact error I post above..   I guess I could just copy my live folder over to my test folder, but then that wouldn't solve the issue as I use mostly default ui files on test compared to live game....  So, is there any help out here?</p><p>Eshaac</p>
