Yes, very much so. And fun too. However, it's not necessarily easy mode like a necro or SK, but if you know what your doing, you can solo some pretty tough heroic encounters.

Only 1 open aoe with fast reuse, my paladin has 5-6 plus one closed. Once i was thinking that i was killing mobs fast till my wwiz friend 2 shotted a mob for which i needed my 3 reactive a stun and 2 DD.

It's true that you can solo ^^^, if you manage to keep them stunned/stiffled or rooted. But if you plan to solo a dungeon you will need some stuff. indeed People who farmed karmor in ROK days usually had lot of healing/warding/stoneskin item, simpl beacuse you always get hit from time to time.

At 44 my crusader was sooing Cazic thule temple, at 52 he was soloing rujark cleft floor2, without even sweating. A coercer may be able to do it but he would need much more care.

Note also that many named do have stun/root/stiflle immunites.

Despite all that my coercer was and is fun to play, but he shines more in group that alone.

Sure a wizard can probably kill a mob in 2 hits, but a coercer's CC abilities have dug me out of some situations where had I been some other class without their CC abilities, I'd probably have died.

The big difference with soloing on a coercer versus another class is how you go about it. Only 1 blue AE for my coercer, that's fine, I'm not planning on running into the middle of a pack of mobs like a pally or sk and trying to burn through them before I die. Soloing on a coercer is a different skillset from grouping on a coercer, which is also true of other classes. It also requires more skill and patience then rolling a crusader and running around spamming your AEs.

I also usually got a higher feeling of accomplishment when i defeated something heroic with him (i mean ^^^).

If you look for a mage archetype the coercer is probably the one i prefer, it is versatile and able to do many things another mage cannot. A necro with tainted heal is probably almost as good (and quite fun to play to). But for xp grind crusaders are better, and their ability to solo yellow heroic (mainly dungeons) is better or equal.

Last my inqui may outperform my paladin at least on heroic Stargets.

My coercer can, usually without taking any damage.

I don't think I had more fun soloing then with my froglok coercer. It gets mighty expensive buying those Master charms, which bugged me, but it made you a killing machine. I could tackle things most others couldn't. And I loved how people would just stop and look when they saw me and a massive charmed mob tagging along XD. It's not easy mode, if you afk with your charmed pet you'll probably find yourself dead.
