I just reactivated my account after a long absence and I noticed that my half elf and gnome character models aren't rendering hair even when I try to change their appearance. Anyone know the solution to this? I am using the original character models.

Thanks.

DirectX is backwards compatible and most older cards do not support shader 3.0. All cards still support shader 1.0.

Ive had file corruption on a fresh install; program running it or how windows installed it broke the file on a fluke, or something else odd. Deleting those files just causes them to be redownloaded via the launcher. Back them up in another folder so that if it doesn't work you can just copy/paste them back in.

Files can get corrupted with time as well, and reinstalling directX doesn't hurt anything. If you recently formatted the computer, you'd need to update directX anyways because windows doesn't install with the latest version, which was released june of last year.

I had something similar happen with my game where certain races just wouldn't render at all and others were bald. If I turned SOGA on or off(dont remember which since I had it on for certain races) it would fix the issue by showing a different model... and that was due to corrupted files.

I'm running a GTX250 if it makes you feel better, and I don't have this issue so I'm thinking it's not your card as your card is newer than mine. I don't think there's going to be a driver issue. I personally think it sounds like a setting is weird or a file is somehow messed up.

Indoors at least it speeds up the framerate a lot for me.

Does the hair show up with Shader 3 on/off or with the new models enabled? A few more things we can try out with a little more information. Update your video card drivers as well if available.
