How is this working out?

Noticable change?

Does your AA increase faster per kill the lower AA you have or is it a straight % nomatter what AA level you are at?

Thanks

Granted I skimmed a lot of it because I don't really care if you want to disable aa's or not. I think the OP was asking more along of the lines of how much xp do you get per kill and is it a noticible difference from what it is now not whether or not you want to get the increased aa amount.

I'm curious how much total aa you get for an EF or LS shard run.

One has 151 AA, the other has 198.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I got 2% just from killing ~12 tigers in KJ. To the point of THIS thread: killing ~12 Yha-Lei in JW on the toon with 198 didn't move the bar at all even when it was stretched across the whole screen so as to better perceive the slightest change. It would seem to me that like AA gain from quests/mobs it's slower the more AA you have.

I would assume it would go alot quicker if you were killing heroics.

It would just look like you are earning faster though because going from 10 to 11 is a small fraction of going from 190 to 191.

I thought this had been pointed out and clarified before but I still hear differing opinions from time to time. Does mentoring down to turn in quests/collections do anything for you anymore? I thought that if you turn in a quest, the quest has a certain amount of xp attached to it. If you mentor down, you get the exact same amount of XP and AA as you would if you weren't mentored. Is this true?

Note: Although I'm sure there are plenty of people who know the answer to this, I'm never going to put it to rest unless a Dev gives me the answer. Hopefully one will check back in and pipe in on the subject.

Anyone who has gotten to 190+ AA could tell you that accumulating AA gets slower as the number of AA you have increases. I have completed the same quest at the same time as a guildy and he got 5% of an AA whereas I got 3%, because he had 10 less AA than I did. You don't need some detailed number on the UI for that, and I'm sure the devs would like to keep the hard numbers hidden so that they can tweak them if needed behind the scenes.

You don't have to quest to get levels or AA in the game. When ROK came out, the MT in my guild essentially lived in Karnor's Castle until he hit 80. He just ground out levels by killing things. I remember when we started doing raids, he had to go and do the sokokar quests so as to have one to ride.

Missing a lot of gear too.

I remember at level 75 going in and doing the quests from the guys outside. 1 G, 1% XP. I gained less than 10% from all the killing, location discovery, and the turn in. It was ludicrous. Never went back until epics.

Not allowing it to be seen seems underhanded.

I should add that it was the MT in the guild I was in at the time, not now. As to his sanity, I guess you could say he was an old school EQ1 player and that is how he did things. He might have left KC around 77 and concentrated on Maiden's and VOES - my memory is kinda hazy about that.

As to the numbers thing, there are a lot of numbers we see already. Hiding numbers isn't underhanded, it potentially prevents people camping and continually killing certain mobs because they happen to provide 2% more XP than some other mobs. And it allows the devs to change things like they did with the XP needed for levels between 20 and 70 without having to say to people "we are adjusting this value by this much".

One other thing to keep in mind on the number of kills per aaxp coming from test, test receives a double xp bonus just for playing on test. So take someone's reported AA conversion numbers and divide by half for the live values (could be even more depending on how many level 80 bonus xp they have etc).
