Maybe we will get a normal pet again, probably right after they put in beastlords.

The mediocre pet was replaced by a great new ability. If you want a pet buy a dog. This new skill rocks!

So one more ability that will break mez???

Why not keep the bag of bone pet with an AOE taunt with the pet only damaging the targeted mob?

I petitioned...really liked using this pet for sustained damage during a large chunk of the fight.

Stupid decision.

It was a new change I believe back in one of the EoF live updates.

The new spell does more damage at one time then the pet would do if it stayed up the entire duration of the fight and actually lived to tell about it. The pet is not "more" sustained damage, it's low next to nothing damage. The new spell is great for tanking AoE fights (which Shadow Odyssey has ALOT) and a great addition to the "Tanking" Shadowknight. It even is great for a DPS SK if you have a capable tank with aggro transfers and snaps up.

Great Decision

I see no reason why this would break mezz unless it is cast right before the mezz and it procs a DoT somehow.

At this early stage I would say that the changes are nothing short of sensational.

Attempting to hold aggro used to be a real challenge, often leading to the death of one or possibly more (insert DPS class here) group member. It was embarassing to have to tell them not to hit the mob until I felt that I had built enough aggro and then gave them the go ahead to do their job. I could picture them shaking their heads and making solemn promises to never group with a Shadowknight "Tank" again.

Having now tanked a few of the new instances with a group consisting of two wizards, an assassin, warden and defiler, I can now hold aggro with normal taunts and plenty of damage, only occasionally having to resort to Rescue or Death Touch to pull a wayward mob. Both of these spells are now on sub 5 minute timers btw.

This update has placed the Shadowknight where they should be. I still believe I could not raid-tank as well as a Guardian, and neither should I be able to. I have other utility that they do not. I can now call myself a tank and not just a tin-plated wizard.

From a solo point of view i can only say i really like the changes, damage has obviously been increased and im cutting through monsters even faster ... but that never really was a problem was it

Not much of a grouper, but agro seems easier. Only playing in small groups so dunno about raiding but i'm positive about the changes.
