Hey all, read though too many posts to count and haven't found an answer to my problem yet, hoping someone here will drop some knowledge on me. I know enough about computers to get myself in trouble so keep it as simple as possible please.

On Extreme performance my FPS goes from 80 down to 6 every 5 seconds. It does this from the second that i log on. I have applied fixes recommended by the community to no avail (Updated drivers, removed firewall/anti-virus, in-game performance tweaks, ect...).

My computer currently runs Vanguard/LOTRO with minimal issues.

Thank you for your help.

My computer specs is as follows (avg at best);

------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 3/24/2008, 11:41:08 Maybe try to enable Vsync? That will help keep the high fluctuations down...but so far, nothing looks strange hereHave you checked your Ping rates also..?Good luck on this

There was a slight change. Instead of the Fps going up and down every 5 sec, it's lasting 15 sec. The ping rate goes from 168 to 386, dunno if thats indicates a problem or not. The Bps is all over the place, it's been varying from 500 to over 3k.

Try to track if you are in combat, other people come into the scene, etc. Stand in one place and see if the ping fluctuates (I usually stare at a wall so nothing causes an issue)...and if they do, then something else is causing a problem...Good luck

Try opening your Task Manager in Windows, and see if every 15 secs you also have any process suddenly spiking your CPU usage for a short period of time while EQ2 is running. You can also do the same on the Network monitor page (also accessible through the Task Manager window).

Yep, thats happening. Just went in-game, my FPS is getting up to 125, the CPU usage is at around 50-52%. When my FPS drops to 5 my CPU usage bounces around 70-95%. My Network Utilization isn't really doing anything its at 0% and goes to .01% randomly. It says my Link Speed is 100 Mbps.
