Currently, by wearing the Blood Drenched Gi (aITEM -529584361 1950433277:Blood Drenched Gi/a) in the appearance slot (same wearing it normally) the gloves are being worn show through. This doesn't happen while wearing for example the Gi of the Ashen Disciple.

Please could this be fixed. Thanks.

Doesn't happen to me.

Actually, Cusahorn, the Blood Drenched Gi (that lovely one from D'Morte that matches the newbie bruiser gi) does show your hand items. This is not a bug and is how the gi is intended to look. I rather like that because, without the gloves, the edges of the sleeves around the wrist look awkward, kind of like the edges around the wrists of the Manacles of Sky. If you wish for invisible hand items, there are some leather bruiser/monk only gloves that are invisible which you can wear in your hand slot as fluff armor. You can also wear your monk AQ sleeves in your fluff slots and have it hidden as well or Wu's Fighting Sleeves depending upon your level. I'm not sure about the bruiser AQ sleeves.

If they fixed the Blood Drenched Gi so that gloves would not show, I would want them to also fix it so that the sleeves did not stop so high upon the wrist.

(I've place a picture of the gi below so people can see which one is in reference. The Gi of the Ashen Disciple, which shares the same pattern as that of the Adept Blood Hide pictured below, stops the sleeves lower on the wrist than the Blood Drenched Gi does.)

Blood Drenched Gis without and with gloves

In order, these are the Blood Drenched Gi, Adept Blood Hide Gi, Chainweave Gi, and Wu's Fighting Shirt.

EDIT: because I was accused of ninja-editing, this post was edited to fix the name of a gi I had listed incorrectly.

Put this in the appearance tab and that should fix your problem:aITEM -1224459361 -1856871699:Faded Wraps/aIt is a quested item from Darklight woods.

Nozomi, out of interest, how do you know that the "show gloves" effect on the Blood Drenched Gi IS intended, considering other Gi's don't show gloves?

I like this GI myself -- equip Wu's shoulders in your appearance slot and it will get rifd of the gloves

Anjin wrote:

Nozomi, out of interest, how do you know that the "show gloves" effect on the Blood Drenched Gi IS intended, considering other Gi's don't show gloves?

Because they've shown the gloves on every model all the time whether male or female ever since Bloodline Chronicles came out. It's been what? Nearly 3 years? I also remember a dev post regarding the showing gloves on the Blood Drenched Gi graphic. That was way back in '05, just before they nerfed the mitigation on the Blood Drenched Gi. I'll see if I can dig that post up, but it seems that a lot of the older posts have been swallowed up in the forum revamp.

Bugs are generally things that only happen on certain models or during certain times. The Blood Drenched Gi has always shown gloves on every model, male or female, and it shows the gloves on its counterparts too. (By counterparts, I mean gis or armor pieces that share the same graphic: the newbie bruiser gi and the Manacles of Sky.) Below... These are examples of gi bugs that need to be fixed. They are things that only happen on certain models in the game.

If you don't want gloves on your Blood Drenched Gi, then wear items that will hide your gloves, such as the Faded Wraps, the Silent Fist Sleeves, Wu's Fighting Sleeves, etc. Personally, I like the gloves showing on this graphic because the sleeves cutting off so high on the wrist makes me look like I'm wearing an arm version of highwater pants. It just looks bad.

As for the statement that it must be a bug because the other the other three gi patterns don't show gloves... Can I use this statement to claim that the Gi of the Ashen Disciple and its counterparts are also bugged because that particular design has footwear and the other three gi patterns show my bare feet?

This still doesn't support your arguement that the gloves showing must be a bug because the other 3 gis don't show gloves. BTW, it's a matter of personal preference. I think the Blood Drenched Gi looks positively horrid without gloves.

Personally, I'd rather they fixed the broken sides and invisible waists on elven females and the misaligned panels on the kerran females than have them tweak around with something that looks perfectly fine the way it is. If you don't want your gloves showing, then wear something that will hide your gloves. If they ever did make it so that the gloves would be hidden, I'd never wear the gi again because the high wrist line looks stupid. It'd wind up being added to my transmutation fodder.

Don't make other people who think it looks good as it is suffer over your personal preference, especially when you can already do something about it in game without asking the devs to change its appearance.

I'm quite happy to find "invisible" gloves. What I do find irritating is this:

"Don't make other people who think it looks good as it is suffer over your personal preference, especially when you can already do something about it in game without asking the devs to change its appearance."

1. You have your preferences, I have mine, so don't bring in the 'other people' arguement.

2. My initial point was that I thought it was a BUG! AFAIK this is the ONLY Gi (apart from some which are just chest altering items) that doesn't affect hand slots. Which although not ultimately confirming it is a bug, is actually a damned sight better than your reasoning/proof of why you think it's not the case.

3. The reason why I'm doing things like this and this is because you like to emphasise things in a condescending manner.

To add to that, in a monk roleplaying environment (which I'm not in, but appreciate the look a monk (in my eyes) should have), monks aren't glamour models (infact far from it). Just because so many people choose female monks because the Gi looks great, doesn't mean that male monks have to go around with effeminate designs. Male monks are hard done by enough with the ornate designs that cater for the female monks (whether played by moobs or women).

Out of interest (again) which Gi do you wear? Do you often wear the Blood Drenched Gi or do you just want your extensive Gi wardrobe at 100% satisfaction at all times?

Playing on a RP server I thought you might consider the monk for what it should be, not as a fashion statement..............

Condescending is asking me to prove what I say when I state the obvious. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean that I'm belittling you.

I don't wear a gi at all unless it is a special occasion, such as a ball or tavern event. My favorite gi of choice during special events is the Blood Drenched because it covers me up so well and is both loose and practical. My monk trains with the Ashen Order and wears an outfit similar to theirs. If I had my way, my monk would be in the flowing yukatas and obis of the Japanese fighting monks. The armor would be nice as well, but that'd make her more of a samurai then.

Actually it's not the case that the blood drenched gi always showed hand armor, maybe it was this way at bloodline launch but at some time they changed it and i buged it immedieatly around early 2007( the same time the balanced armbands lost their apperance which i buged as well) when the hand armor appeared and from then more than once, every time there was an update with no fix till i surrendered.

Been checking out old posts regarding the Blood Drenched Gi:

LU #9 update post

"- The Blood Drenched Gi will now occlude other armor properly."

GU33 Hotfix requests

"Since GU #32:

1. balanced armbands bugged/no grafic

2.handarmor is visible on blood drenched gi"

Inbetween those two posts there was the following complaint which incidently came after the No-Zone flag was removed in LU #15:

Post

"Can we take away the Glove animation? How about a /hideglove ..or just take it out of the artwork to show gloves when we have Gi's equipped?"

So it seems that Prior to LU #9 the Gi was incorrectly showing the gloves, the correction was made in LU #9 but the LU#15 update changed this. It was then silently updated to occlude gloves prior to GU #32 and then another silent change was made since GU#32 to show gloves again.

Now since I've heard that invisible gloves can be put in the appearance slot to solve this, I don't want the item to be fixed as some people (Nozomi) don't like the forearm effect.

To Nozomi, you get treated the way you treat other people. You insisted that I was wrong about the problem without providing anything factual and then got overly defensive when I start questioning about your logic/motive.

Please refrain from player-specific jabs; this has been an informative thread so far, and it's a shame to ruin it with insults. If it doesn't directly relate to the point put forth in the thread's OP, especially if it's derogatory and aimed specifically at another player, it's best to leave it out. Don't take things personal, and don't make things personal! Please keep it respectful and constructive!
