Aye fantastic write up. Just got link from the conjy forums. You seem to have left out necromancer buffs though. They have group wis/int buff but dont know numbers atm.

The wizard group buff already provides the group with INT/STR

<p>Awesome write up, I believe this topic will be linked many many times in the furture.</p><p> I belive that conj's have a pet proc debuff for elemental damage as well around the same amount as rending icicles, not sure if they stack or not, but it can be very helpful on AoE fights as the conj mage pet can proc it from his AoEs.</p>

Added in some graphs to show the effects of raising INT against spell damage, and made that section a little clearer. Also included various suggestions from both this thread and the other one.

<p>I love you. o_oThank you for posting this. I've seen much of it scattered throughout the boards here, but I've never seen anyone put up as much comprehensive content and I have to say: GREATLY appreciated.I know many of us hard-core wizards are familiar with a lot of this information just from not-sucking at the game; Still, I teared up just scrolling through the first page. Having a hard-copy of the info. (especially the math stats) = love.Well done. I hope to see it updated regularly.</p><p>[Edit:] Woops! </p><p>"<b>When target strikes a death blow</b> Your target got pwned"</p><p><b>When target strikes a death blow </b>Your target pwned something</p><p>Also, unsure about this one but it seems like..</p><p><b>"When target is damaged in combat</b> You take any melee damage"</p><p><b>When target is damaged in combat</b> Your target takes any melee damage</p><p>And so on for the remaining "When target / you take" 's.</p>

I'm eager to see if the results constitute an improvement. I haver to admit, giving up the STR line (the crit increase and Catalyst) was tough... lol... I"m going on blind faith here. So we'll see. Every guild I've been in so far pays almost NO attention to what classes are in the wizzy's group, and seem to focus only on the MT group and hate management.</p><p> One preplexing thing is under Spell Rotation, Protoferno is in the rotation. <cite>Repler wrote:</cite><blockquote>Hey I am a troub, and I was wondering why you pointed out Resonance over Harmonize.  Just curious, because atm I use Harmonize.  Please PM me if this isn't the place.</blockquote>Last time i checked, harmonization is bugged - it sends some dots in the wrong direction (e.g. Surging Tempest), as well as some item procs with a recurring effect (MO pants for example). However, I have just taken the time to test a few things and discovered that it does actually work to increase the duration of item proc effects from the likes of the Robe of Al'kabor, Dark Orb of the Mind, VWB, etc. Forgot to check its effect on Frigid Gift / Inferno Surge / PotM - perhaps someone can let me know <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />Resonance is also quite valuable imo, especially for contested encounters. All our troubs run with resonance, but in light of the above I might actually see if i can persuade them to change.

I have no hard numbers for it, but it will be quite high up the dps-eff list (you can evaluate your own parses - i.e. how much (average) total damage has it done for one cast?). It is a spell that is ideal for casting at the start of the fight, as it has low initial damage/hate, but does a very decent amount of damage by the time it is done running its course.Edit: As far as I am aware, it can't be outright resisted - I say "as far as I am aware" because i can't recall an instance of it ever being resisted.Edit2: When checking your parse for the damage protoferno does, don't forget to include any "protoferno's fiery end" entries - that is the damage the pet deals to all surrounding enemies if it is killed before it expires.

Ok, question on figuring your spell efficiancy/cast order....When calculating your damage for spells, do you factor in +Spell Damage?I'm at the point where I am trying to eek out everly tiny bit of DPS I possibly can, and would love to hear detailed accounts of how you all calculate your spell efficiancies in order to determine your preferred casting order.Would average damages gotten empirically from raid parses, be better than using the average you get when examining the spell itself? Or would the variation in debuffs/resists/etc on the mobs make this problematic? (Or do you think it would be more realistic, since these are the types of fights I am trying to maximize my DPS in?)Thoughts?--Tusk
