According to the character creation screen, assassins are rogues.

Therefore, why can't an Assassin betray to a swashie?

This is very confusing. Please change that allow Assassins to betray to a Swashie.

Allot of new players are under the assumption that evil rogues can betray to good ones and then they find out they cant.

Is this error going to be fixed soon? Evil rogues should be able to betray to good ones.

Rangers are in their own category. Not sure why they changed that. . .

So, if SOE says their Rogues, then they are rogues fair enough,,let us betray to Swashies! its only fair,,,,if they are opposite of rangers then they need to be put opposite of rangers so people know

well Rangers can betray to assassins. Since this is the way it was before.

I think they need to clear this up or address this issue

They changed how the classes are arranged on character creation a long time ago. Lot's of people complained that it is confusing and misleading. They said they arranged these classes to better reflect the overall theme of the class. Though we know assassins and rangers are predators, they are very different classes. Though I agree that it is confusing, I don't see them changing it now, if they didn't back then.

It is a little weird how that have them grouped on character creation, but you are needlessly confusing yourself. If you really want to play a swashbuckler why don't you just roll up a swashbuckler? If you really want to betray to swashbuckler for some weird roleplay reason then roll up a brigand and then betray.

I can see how this is confusing for the people who are just coming into the game and see hey a rogue class i can betray within any rogue class. Vs peeps who started the game or at least played befor they revamp of the cheracter creation system When you actually had to start no calss go to scout then predator then assassin where you could easily see the counterpart was ranger.

It was feedback'd by a ton of people in EoF beta (where this new grouping first was released), but aparently it was ignored.
