<p>Use a bow? Pretty simple question. I ask because now that bow's can be adorned with a +10dps adornment in jousts in and out couldn't we possibly produce more DPS by using a bow with a 108+ rating? If you had the option to a 108+ rated bow would you go for it? Why or Why not...</p><p>Let me ask another question...If you already had a nice Satchel (Membranous Sheath) couldn't you just macro to equip the satchel/ammo and use the thrown attack then requip the bow with the better stats and much higher auto attack dmg? Does the same ranged attack delay apply if you use the throwning ability, then switch to bow autoattack?</p><p>LOL does any swashy (high-end) use a bow or just stick with a satchel to use our one ranged abilitiy? </p><p>Thanks. </p>

<b><i>Nah. Last thing rangers need is a bunch of swashes taking away their bread and butter for a slight and situational dps increase. I don't use my ranged auto attack enough to care what weapon/ammo I have, so long as I can use my CA I'm happy. I'll just stick with my sheath.</i></b>

You could use a bow, but honestly if you have the sheath you really won't see a huge upgrade unless you get a nice EoF bow and now there is a nice EoF satchel.  Also, I always carry around my razorwing anyway for the stats and resists.  Also, with reach now, I can spam my CAs from range on most short range AoEs.  This means I can do all my debuffs from ranged which means I rarely throw anymore because the game won't queue a ranged auto attack between melee combat arts unless I wanted to force it to do so.  That gives me an idea...  I may try binding my ranged auto attack key to something easy to hit on ranged fights. So, I guess in the end, to me it isn't worth the hassel of swapping out different ammo bags and such to use a bow and our one ranged CA.  But depending on your DKP system, etc, it may be worth it for some. Oh, and lastly, the Unicorn in EH drops a nice new pouch that would be very nice for your summoned ammo.

<p>Yeah I've heard the rumor. Currently the rogues in my guild that raid 100% are saving DKP for the Machete or Folded Blade...Mayongs Bow dropped last night. Our new Ranger just transferred servers and was locked out...No one was really bidding except for myself and a pally...I took the bow. Its really stat upgrade imho from the Satchel. The pally uses the symbol off of Princes more so then his bow. But I figured when the MT pulls just pop the mob with the bow then assist MA...On some encounters like Mayong, Matron, Tender I tend to find myself out more so then in considering usually choping away on adds...</p><p>Although, had someone other then the pally <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> been bidding (Ranger, Assassin, or even MT/OT) thought wouldn't have crossed my mind. <p>No, because that means I can't use ranged CA's or my thrown-ammo bag, or my t8 summoned ammo. I'd rather not get a bow unless it was one of the best 3 bows in the game. Then I might consider it.</p>

I don't know enough about bows to know the top 3 names. I would just ask my RL (ranger) what they are. If it was one of those, and it would otherwise go to waste, I would take it.

I don't see anything WRONG with the idea of picking up one of the "3 best bows in the game" (whatever they are, I have no idea) but I personally wouldn't. I'm a swordsman, I don't use bows; they just don't seem to fit me. It's a RP thing, is all.

<p>Only problem with the Razorwing is you'll find it still is NOT adornable with the 10% dps fabled adornment which is pretty sweet.   Its one of the few Claymore questline items that was not fixed.   I've been raiding KOS for a long long time and unfortunatly, I think my guild has only seen 1-2 satches drop off Tarinax and the Unicorn didn't drop the satchel last time.  I'm thinking one day luck will turn my way.</p><p>And like the previous poster stated, I'm 100% for roleplaying and I wouldn't be caught with anything that does not fit exactly into the way things are meant to be!  <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

i honestly want to go bow for ranged dps purposes, its better for that and with the dps addorns theres no reason not too.

<p>If you mean reach, excluding ranged attacks, max range on melee CA's is 15m, not 20.</p>

You could use a ranged weapon and stay at 15m, but that would still be more difficult and less productive than jousting.... I'm surprised at how many nerf threats you've posted about our class yet how little you seem to know. </b></i>
