View Full Version : PvP thoughts - omg
<div>OMG, maybe ive been living under a rock for the past few months, but i just heard about pvp from a friend. Ive got some inital questions like where i can go to transfer to the servers etc but i just wanted to say... omg... we will so own.</div><div> </div><div>I play a 60Ranger on AB and in duels i find that NO ONE can beat me, i am unstopable. My RL friend says that Rangers are overpowered, but thats just because he's a wizard and is "apparently meant to do more dps and be tier1??" bull, i say things are fine and he's just annoyed that i can take Sha'Ir in Maj'dul in under 2 minutes and he cant.</div><div> </div><div>We are, and should be the best dmg class ever, on raids i consistantly parse over 1.2 k dps and i am JUST THRILLED about the direction that SoE is taking my class. UP UP AND AWAY SoE, Great job, keep the good news coming.</div>

Is it just me? or is that a wizzie icon under his name? Just a thought <span>:smileytongue:</span><div></div>
<div></div><p>And after looking a little at his other posts, his main is a 42 Warlock, he has a 36 Necro, and a 22 Coercer.</p><p>So he likes mages apparently lol</p>

<div></div><p>no, it's not certain we will own in PvP. they have made the game code so that PvE and PvP rules can be strictly different. if we will own on PvP, be sure that they will balance that out.</p><p>in duells we may own, but it's mostly due to beeing able to get out big damage bursts right up front. that's all it takes in most duels, especially vs. mages and priests. got nothing to do with overpowered.</p><p>as for wizzies and tier 1 dps and stuff: it's getting old. some wizzies know their class and know they can kick butt and they get along with us pretty well. others have some issues and formulate their worries and thoughts in a constructive manner. then others think they should out-dps the whole world all the time on any mob, run dps-parsers without knowing what added effects are behind the dps numbers, and like to point at 'the over-powered ranger'. in the end they choose what type they want to be. and the devs choose to who they will listen.</p><p>---------------------------<a target="_self" href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/en/pplayer.vm?characterId=383113204">Ryilan Nightbreeze </a>---------------------------</p>

Everyone admits there are issues. The reason it's getting old is because the issues have been around for pretty much the entire game. So, the issues <em>are</em> old. It's not really surprising that they haven't been fixed by now though.</font></div><p>Message Edited by BtilTheMage on <span class="date_text">02-13-2006</span><span class="time_text">09:42 AM</span></p>

<div></div>Rangers are good for PvP but nothing beats a Brigand.
<div></div><blockquote><p></p><hr>coltlane wrote:I was dusting my quiver last night and 3 wizards died.<p></p><hr></blockquote><p>HAHAHAHAHA!!! OMG.. whew...that was really good</p><p>I never encourage the cross-class hate, but absurdity like this is funny stuff. Besides, I think Colt is spot on in ridiculing the whole situation, not insulting sorcerors. (I still don't understand why they think we can fix their problems.)</p>
either way no one know what soe is gonna do with all the classes in there clutches. I for 1 pity anyone who has an assumption of what his class will be becauuse u will most likly get downtroten when u play and find out what soe will do to all of the classes to make it a survivable envirnment. simple terms? there taking the omega bat out and waloping all the classes at once to fit just right<span>:smileyvery-happy:</span><div></div>

<div></div><p>I hope anybody from SoE passing through this thread notes very firmly that the OP is a caster.</p><p>That's [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] low. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's against the terms of service. I'd suggest the Rangers here consider PMing the mods. That post is well above and beyond the normal efforts to get a class nerfed.</p>

<font color="FF6600"><b>Hi, im from the PvP boards...well thats where I post most and I have alot of info on it. And yes you have been living under a rock. As for PvP there are NO TRANSFERS and I repeat NONE! Period there are no special pvp servers to transfer you character or anything you have to start brand new. As for rangers and pvp, well there rules are different you have regular pve attacks and those wont ever change in PvP however while in combat with another person your spells have a double effect and work different. This is the same for every class. CA might not do as much damage there simple scaled down a bit but are still powerful, different skills have different uses as well like the rangers evade. When used your opponent will instantly lose your target along with going invis does the same thing. You can click and get the target back as well. For invis theres a 20m radius for it meaning if your 20m away from your opponent they cant see you, if your within 20m they can see a shadowy outline of you and attack. Now as for rangers in general in PvP, there still good like on PvE but no where near unstoppable (actually from experience you guys arnt all that unstoppable now that you cant hit me from any distance with your bow CA). In PvP rangers are some what dominant but are getting thrashed up close by people. Read more up on the PvP forum.</b></font><div></div>
