<DIV>Hi all,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I have checked with other Scout lines and the Mage lines, but I have noticed that all of my Enemy Mastery Strikes are only usable from the rear. Other Rangers have reported this too. I have done a /bug report on it. This changed after the Sept. 14 patch. There was nothing in the release notes about it that I could fine. Is every Ranger out there seeing the same thing? If so, /bug it and let's get it fixed. We shouldn't be the only ones that have to use those strikes positionally.</DIV>

I had it happen last night, too. I really hope it's not intentional. <div></div>

Mine also do this.. and it sucks.. I dont need ANOTHER attack that can only be used behind.. I need stuff I can use when soloing.. (my current backstabs are plenty for soloing and the "mastery" never has a place to be used) <div></div>

<P>I must be in the minority that like this CA. Sure it would be better if non positional but it was vastly upgraded since the patch. I normally use this while soloing and it is a great help. The revised Strike does about 500-800 damage and ~300 pt. debuff to piercing.</P> <P>I would hit the mob with cheap shot, then Creature Strike, Pouncing Attack/Shadow Lunge. With this combo I can solo yellows in Zek (Orc Mastery) with little trouble. </P> <P>I'm not sure if its a bug or intended thou. I guess it would depend on the potency of the attack compared with other classes e.i. is it a better skill than Mage nukes. If it is better then I can see the positional requirement if not then I would agree that it shouldn't be positional.</P>
I too would rather have this as it is, as opposed to a downgraded frontal version. It's great dmg, even better debuff, and is workable into the solo game with a bit of effort. But since when have Rangers been afraid of effort!? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>

<DIV>I completely agree. MY master strikes now does more than 1000 in damage and debuffs for around 300. Keep it positional if making it frontal reduces the damage. Now I use it with cheap shot, crippling blade, lunging thrust, master strike = dead mob.</DIV>

Especially when I could not figure out how to get cheap shot to stun heroic mobs. However, now that I read that all you need to do for cheapshot to work on Heroics is hit the ~ button to break combat immed. after cheap shot...you can stun him and get to his rear....now I am ok with it. I love the damage and debuff. Good Hunting Saihung</span><div></div>

i must admit, at first i was not liking the combat changese. i felt it was much harder to solo and it felt like a new class altogether and the mastery skills now postional made it all the more harder, however after a week of trial and error i love the change. you have to think now in battle and the dmg out put is much higher. thanks <div></div>

The Enemy Mastery strikes aren't specific to certain classes. All classes have them available. It doesn't say anywhere in the Update Notes that this was changed to a positional attack. If they were going to change it to be positional for just the Ranger class, then that doesn't seem right to me. I believe it was unintentional and needs reported. If someone has/knows an assassin, ask them if their strike is now positional too.</P> <P>Thanks,<BR></P>

<DIV>They are positional for all scouts now... Bards, Rogues, and Predators.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edit: After reading the entire thread...</DIV> <DIV> They do nearly twice the damage as the mage nuke version. The mage nukes can do approximatly 800-1000dmg and the Scout Mastery spells do up to 1800-ish.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV><p>Message Edited by Kiluvian on <span class=date_text>09-21-2005</span> <span class=time_text>10:01 AM</span>

I remember reading about the positional somewhere in the game. Maybe when i examined the CA <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

ya can stun heroica but as soon as you hit them it breaks, i think it also has a higher chance to break before it has timed out. I love the master strikes as is, I love the ranger class as is <div></div>

Just a friendly Bump to get rid of another thread. <div></div>

<P>I personally like this change. More damage is always awesome. It comes in handy when one of my other positional attacks like Shadow Lunge has not refreshed and I want to keep hitting hard. The stun refreshes pretty quickly so it's still easy to use solo despite being positional.</P> <P>I think it's pretty obvious that it's intended --> scouts are positional in nature, they obviously upped the damage that the mastery's do for scouts and this would be inline with positional attacks doing more damage across the board.</P>
