<DIV>I just got PotM, and have some questions for those who have used it a while.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1. I have never seen a Master of it on the broker. Do Masters exist?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. Reading the spell, it seems I am basically useless while running it. Do I read correctly?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. What group compositions make up for pulling myself out of the fight? I ordinarily group with a zerker, templar, and inquisitor. I am assuming that PotM would not be useful in that group. Sometimes we add a swashbuckler - I am assuming I should still DPS and not cast PotM. If we add a necro, would PotM pay off then?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. If I start PotM and we get an add, can I break the spell so I can cast charm or mez?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thanks for your help. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

<DIV>1.  Yes, have had mine for months.  It is glorious.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2. You are the absolute opposite of useless.  You are rooted, but still can cast anything.  Any spell, whether damage or debuff, will proc.  With the AA to get PoTM up to 30 seconds, I can cast and drop my AoE spells no less than 15 times.  That's 15 procs times however many mobs there are.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3. Any class that uses spells will benefit.  CA's are not affected.  In your normal group it would only really benefit you.  Personally I only use it if I know the fight will be longer than 30 seconds or if it is a tougher named, as most fights are <30 seconds anyway.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>4. Yes, you can break at any time.  Mezz will proc and break if PoTM is active, but charm should work fine.  Haven't personally used charm in over a year though, so I couldn't speak specifically on that.</DIV>

<DIV>In addition to being rooted you do not do any autoattack damage during the duration so be prepared to spam your spells for the extent.  You can also cast Jester's Cap on yourself or another caster to speed up recovery.</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks for all the info and grats on your Master.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>>2. You are the absolute opposite of useless.  You are rooted, but still can cast anything. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Nice. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>iirc the description reads that you are rooted and you are dazed. Does being dazed only stop auto-attack, then?</DIV>

I think the proc happens before the mezz is applied. Like with Aria, you can actually mezz a mob to death :p</P> <P>As for when to use PotM, even if my group is all melee and healer, I'll use it against groups. If you toggle our group debuffs on and off a few times you can actually make up for the fact that we suck at aoe dpsing.</P>

So when do you find it useful Rampagious? One caster in group? Two? ...

Rampagious

<DIV>Oh its always useful when there is one or more casters in group.  I was just saying that it hurts me dps if the encounter doesn't have 4+ mobs.</DIV>

Hehe both your weapons do about the same damage as my 1handed dagger, so yeah I guess you would lose out on DPS <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Who gets the aggro on the PotM damage? If your tank is having trouble keeping mobs off the casters, should you not use it?

The person who procs the spell gets the agro, and yeah - if the tank can't keep agro off the casters don't use it on AE mobs I guess - or you could use it and then Jester the tank to help with agro.

Precision is brilliant... especially now i have maxed it out in AA points making it last for 30 sec. i am sure the fact that it raises of INT by 70 or 80 for that time. so that would help casters, healers, pally/Sks and no to mention your own dps. in maxing it out i also took all the AA's so all my song nukes are a lot faster. sure autoattack is off but just looking at the procs as they hit is amazing.of course dont ask me for logged dps records cos i cant stand sitting there tearing apart every fight. and fretting who out dps's who or crying that i did 20 less dps this fight then last.ultimately you have those who can play a class, or those who just push the buttons in time... a person can prove with numbers there worth yet i fail to see the higher the numbers means the beater the player. we are a support class which means there are some things we bring to group that cant be recorded<div></div>

<DIV>I have a guildie (Troub) that hits the top 10 parse almost every time.  I know that he uses PotM on fights.  You have a dot, 2 insta cast buffs, and numerous spells, if you're REALLY worried about it, park in the middle of the mobs before you cast - but you're far from useless.  If being parked renders you useless, you should look at upgrading your spells <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>At any rate, we're not a DPS class, we're a utility class  - what does DPS truly matter?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<P>>  what does DPS truly matter?</P> <P>Hehe, when I am playing my troubadour, I agree. When I am on my Warlock or Swashie, I point out the best form of crowd control is a dead mob. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </P>
