Currently my swashie is lvl 47.  I recently started a ranger to lvl a bit because my wife gets annoyed if I get to many lvls above her on my main.  The ranger just dinged 28.  To be honest I'm starting to feel a bit insecure about my swashie's DPS.  I know ranger are tier one DPS and swashies are tier 2 but I have been noticing some  things that kind of make me step back and worry a bit.  My ranger (At lvl 2<img src="/smilies/b2eb59423fbf5fa39342041237025880.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> has several CA's that hit pretty hard.  My average hidden shot (App4) is landing for around 600-800 damage.  That ALOT of damage espically when I look at my lvl 47 swash whos highest CA (Mastered) lands for 600 if I'm lucky.  Knowing that one is tier one DPS and one is tier 2 really isnt doing much to ease my mind.  When my rangers app4 CA is hitting for the same if not more then my swashies masterII CA I have to think I am doing something wrong.  The gear on my swashie is good.  Not the best but good.  All my jewlery, armor and weapon is mastercrafted.  I don't have a single piece of  gear that doesnt have +str on it.  I have heard that a well played swashie will generally not BEAT a ranger on the parse but will generally give them a good run for thier money.  At the moment I'm not really seeing how that is possible when my lvl 28 rangers CA's hit harder then my 47 swashie.  Any adivice on info on this subecjt would be greatly appericated. Thanks all!<div></div>

<DIV>Single target under a minute fight, a well played Ranger will beat a well played Swashy, by a few hundred DPS. IE: 1500 Swashy vs 1600 Ranger for example.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Multi target or a fight over a minute, Swashy will beat Ranger by a few hundred DPS.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I raid with a bunch of Rangers.. most parse way under me except for the one who actually knows what he's doing, which acts like the case above.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Swashies don't get their great DPS on until they get Inspiration and Hurricane. Then let the good times roll.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Rokjin on <span class=date_text>01-18-2007</span> <span class=time_text>08:43 AM</span>

Not the case for me at 46.I've a full set of Ebon gear, a legendary 1hs that I picked up for 30g, a good poison, mostly app4 CAs (yeah, I said it, App4), plus I went down the STR/WIS lines and have 31aa. (at like 40aa I'll have melee crit maxed out and I should be even more happy)I parse high, but I find that players at this level/tier have not been playing as long as I have, and generally aren't as....comfortable....in the game as I am. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />What I mean is, lately I parse higher than wizards, even in short fights, however they may be new to the game. I don't know. ACT doesn't lie though.<a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/characters/character_profile.vm?characterId=285128106" target=_blank>My Swashie</a>(no comments on the name, I was trying to think of something flashy, flambouyant, and...swash-like?)<div></div>
