<DIV>Just a quick question that i have been wondering about.  In EQ1 we were summoners, ...........okay, got that part right.  But as summoners we could summon items, this seems to be mostly gone, cept for a couple of things.  We had pets and could summon armor and weapons for our pets............where'd that go?  Can we not give our pets armor and weapons in EQ2?  Do we ever get that ability to summon items specifically for our pets?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Well, just being curious.  Somehow, watching my pet run around naked with no armor or weapons is kinda disturbing <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> LOL</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If we could summon armor or items that are specific to different pets..........that would be totally awesome. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, just being curious where our ability to SUMMON went <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Devian</DIV> <DIV>Lucan Delar</DIV>

<DIV>im kinda curious 2, i dont really care about the weapens and armor stuff and all, but i do miss the fact of not beeing able to summon a mount, a conjuror should at least be able 2 ride something, asured if a paladin and a shaddowknight can do it.....am i right or am i wrong?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>kinda strange, but i still think EQ2 is better as EQ1</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1 thing more that i miss is: the size of the pets, in EQ1 pets were HUGE! now theyre smallies, aw well, thats all 4 me</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>CYA!</DIV>

<P>Okay, first..........i don't care if it's EQ1, EQ2, EQLive, whatever.  This is about a specific class/sub-class.  A summoner: summoner of items pulled from another plane into this plane.  (i.e. the ability to summon food, drink, items to help self, group, etc. ).  I mean come on, check AD&D (what this is supposed to based on) and look what a summoner is suppose to do.  They SUMMON.  Then Conjurer: the ability to conjure apparitions, pets, weapons, armor, mounts, whatever.  A conjurer is an advanced summoner.  They take summoning to a Highly Specific and Dedicated level.  They should have the ability to pull some of the strongest and most helpful items from planes of existence that no other player can even imagine.  They should have honed their abilities and knowledge to a level that allows them to CONJUR.</P> <P>All i'm saying is that if you play a summoner/conjurer, you should have the abilities that this type of character would innately be able to do.  Instead we can summon, at level 30, 2 items (not including pets) and be able to do an illusionists job by turning ourselves into fire pets.  We can't pull hardly anything out of thin air that any other class can't do.  Our nukes are almost all AoE spells, gauranteed to bring aggro on the caster if a group is engaged.  The pets we summon rarely use their power and cast.  We have no way to enhance our pets by providing them with benefits such as summoned (pet only) armor or weapons.  I mean come on.........WE ARE SUMMONERS AND CONJURERS.</P> <P>Oh, one last thing..........please dont' post little 3 or 4 word comments to this just to increase the amount of posts you have.  If you have a reply or comment, make it meaningful.</P> <P> </P>

<P>umm everyone knows this isnt eq1 repeat after me we know this . and still it is a valid  question give the guy some respect and not the  one line crap that  is old .cause like i said befor this seems just like eq1 to me in  a ton of ways. we have broken pets just like eq1,we have dps issues just like eq1, we have ...... o forget it </P> <P> </P> <P>we are summoners but dont summon jack [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] <besides pet of corse and worthless eb stone and mana shards that are preety worthless also.and hell summoning a pet isnt even special when 80 pct of the other classes can do same thing to help em in one form or another.</P>

<P>Okay, I wasn't trying to stir up a can of worms, i just <FONT color=#3366ff>wanted to post a question to sony</FONT>.  I guess i could of said it better with just one simple question.</P> <P><FONT color=#ff0000>Are we ever going to be able to do what our Class Name of Conjurer implies we can do?</FONT>  </P> <P>Even the dictionaries sais 1. To call a devil or demon........., 2. To call forth or summon....... and Summon 3. To call forth or evoke.</P> <P>What do we call forth or summon, 2 stones and a pet?   Pffft.  That just makes us <STRONG><U>Very Weak Wizards</U> </STRONG>with a pet.  Our nukes suck, most of our damage is AoE, and we can't summon, conjure, call forth, evoke much of anything ;(</P> <P>Please SONY, when you create a class, let that class do what the name of the class implies..........as it sets, you might as well call us cowboys <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </P> <P>Hehe, guess i did stir up a can of worms anyway <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P> </P> <P> </P>

We aren't supposed to be wizards, and as a result our DDs are supposed to be weak. We use powerful DoTs. While we have strong group DoTs, our primary spells are single target DoTs.

<div></div><p>Sorry X, we missed the point again <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  This has nothing really to do with our damage or how we do it.  I'm aware of the fact that we are suppose to be a DPS class and that most of our damage is suppose to be DoT's.  The point being missed here is not what we are casting on the mobs............it's what we are summoning.  We summon a pet, a water stone and a power shard.  Oooooh, impressive to be called a "Summoner" or "Conjuror", not!  Question was (and still is) when are we going to be able to do as our NAME implies?</p><p> </p><p>Okay, example.......just in case :</p><p>Summons arrows</p><p>Summons daggers</p><p>Summons Food</p><p>Summons Drink</p><p>Summons "any item out of pure thin air, pulling it from another realm to aid those in need"......sorry (got carried away i guess) <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p> </p><p>Anyway......notice all those things start with the same word?  "Summons", Henceforth our abililty to summon as implied by the name we hold.  Bah....Never mind....it's useless <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p> </p>

<div>Although I agree that this game isn't EQLive, it is still supposed to be a continuation of the game WORLD 500 years later or whatever.  Therefore, classes, and I mean classes in general should not deviate far from where they were in EQLive.  That being said, summoners and conjurors while they SHOULD be summoning items and fun and random knick knacks from another plane, are not in that progression any longer being paired with Necromancers in our class/subclass.  I enjoyed the fun summoning of EQLive, and I would not be against it returning, however, I am not going to look this gifthorse in the mouth.  We are a very fun, multitalented class that requires a good amount of research and knowledge to play.  Exactly what I was looking for when I came to EQ2.  I wouldn't give up anything we have (except maybe CotH) for summoning abilities.  Oh, and maybe our AAs. heh.  But I don't know your level, or how long u have been a conjuror, but it really is a fun exciting class.  There are wose things than us not summoning.  And its coming in a LU near you.</div>

<div>I think Summoner refers to the summoning of our pets, which is our class defining ability (yes, other classes get them too now, but ours are the only "real" pets).  I really don't care to become a one stop supply shop for the rest of the gaming community.  And I certainly don't want to give up any of what I have now (read useful abilities) to gain the ability to create what would likely be gimped food, arrows and the like.</div>

<div></div><p>It's more than enough having to pass out Essences one by one when raiding.</p><p>I would not like to be able to or have to summon anything more in the game even though I loved doing it in EQLive as a "Magician".</p><p>We are not Magicians here in EQII. So we shouldn't be able to pull stuff out of our hats so to speak ~ :smileywink:</p>
