I was tanking RoV last night on my level 30 paladin, and i lost aggro/hate every now and then and when i did, i couldnt gain it back very fast. My question is, if rescue is down, how could i snap the mob back to me?

at your level your options are very limited, you only really have rescue when it comes to personal snaps. once you reach level 80+ you will gain Holy Ground (not as OP a snap as it once was, but still gets the job done depending on how many positions you have dropped) and through aa sneering assault (2nd rescue), you can also halve the reuse time on rescue though aa's.

best advice i can give is stick whatever level of amends you currently have on the person pulling from you, then their hate becomes your hate SMILEY

once you gain some levels and aa you probably wont need amends as much but for now i would say it is your best friend SMILEY

If u havent, max ur dmg in AAs & get "dps" gear, that will help u hold aggro alot, at that lvl theres no point too spec tank, just raw dps SMILEY

Make use of Amends. Make sure you get at least adept if not master of amends I. From there you'll need to put it on the group member who'll be producing the most hate. For ae fights: warlock, wiz, swash or other tanks like zerker or sk (assuming they're not MT).Single target: assassin, wiz, brig, ranger, or monk are good bets-Note swash, ranger, etc hate xfers comes before amends so they stackOf course it also comes down to how they're equiped. A well equiped swash two levels lower could very well create more hate than an under-equiped wiz two levels higher. While I was leveling especially with new groups it'd take a few pulls, sometimes resulting in a few party member deaths, for me to find the best amends target. It's amazing the difference between a bad amends target and a good one. Just apologize and move on SMILEYIt can really get difficult if you have an assassin and ranger both well equiped for sinlge targets or two warlocks with ae fights. That's when Sigil of Heroism comes in handy, though that's not until lvl 52

Speccing for dps is the lazy way out, and I still pity the end level Paladins who spec dps in order to tank. Working for threat through AA and knowing the other classes, understanding how hate transfers work and finding other ways to maximize threat input without doing damage, and proving your utility beyond damage is the tagline of a true Paladin.

A balanced approach is still best, isn't a whole lot of difference speccing for "dps" as opposed to anything else. Also, for the OP, dirges are your best friend, they help a ton for tanking with hate and dps buffs, as well as defensive ones. Especially later on.
