This may be a noob question but what does evade do and the other hate debuff spells that a ranger has in PVP.  Is it worth upgrading to Adept 3?  Also when do you use it when in combat.  One more question How do I kite an opponent when I can only use one CA when I am moving?

Evade forces your target to clear their target (if it's you) it's worth upgrading for PvE... PvP however I've yet to see it ever resisted, so I'm guessing that the Adept III is the same as the Ap IV for PvP.

At the momment you kite by stunning/rooting/snaring you target and running away faster than most classes. But dont worry, get a decent bow and you wont need to run away or kite, you'll be able to kill most folks before they even know you're there. Even if they do manage to get into melee range, they'll be almost dead and you can just melee to finish them off.

First, in PVP, Evade makes the ranger's target lose their target.  This will mess up people with limited PVP experience, and may cause them to accidentially target a mob or another player (like the level 70's who hang around most high volume pvp areas, EL/SS docks, etc.) and can result in a quick and easy win, or cause a moment of confusion.  As far as I know, it is unresistable in pvp, so upgrading it only has an impact on how much hate you lose on PVE mobs.

Kiting is easy, just snare & root/stun your target and sprint away, fire off any bow attacks that require you to be stationary (turn off sprint here), when they start to slowly close the gap, use the one(s) that allow you to fire on the run and do ranged auto attack dot and poison damage.  Also, make sure you have the best possible poisions running at all times (3- stat debuff (str or agi works well depending on who you are fighting), deaggro (similar effect to evade!), and damage (personally I like dot based poisons because they tick while kiting)).  And then just run around until they are dead.  You should stun/root and resnare every time it pops, so don't hide these abilities behind a macro (though it is tempting - save these for chaining bow attacks).

So far, Ranger is the most fun class I've played.  I don't know how easy/hard it will be in T7 and with the upcoming nerf, but kiting people is really fun and fairly easy to do in T6.

Edit: and yeah, as the post above mine indicates, if you open with your biggest ranged attack and immediatly follow up with ranged snare, they will be dead or very nearly so by the time they close the gap, even if you are standing still.  Just melee 'em down at that point.  Kiting is almost not needed (other than the initial snare, if you count that).

Evade is pretty worthless for a ganking ranger.  You can't cast it if you're too far away.. where you should be.

now if things get hairy, that's where it comes in handy.  Forcing someone to clear their targer during a close combat fight can help you get range again.
