WoW players have it easy how, the devs have introduced filtering and have gone after the plat spammers while SoE do nothing. Come on SoE, do something for us that Blizzard sees as important for WoW players.  If you really dont care for us, then at least speak up and explain SoEs inaction in combatting spam. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/t...o=1&sid=1#0 As many of you know, the latest content patch, along with many great new content additions, contains technical counter-measures designed to combat in-game gold spamming. Our efforts to reduce in-game abuse and create a fun, safe environment for everyone are never-ending. With that said, we felt that it was important to share with the community just how serious we are in our efforts to combat this type of abuse. Blizzard has filed a federal lawsuit against the operators of Peons4hire, a popular gold-selling organization which many of you have no doubt seen advertised. As part of the lawsuit, the operators of Peons4hire have been asked to immediately cease all in-game spamming efforts by all entities and websites under their control. If this organization refuses to act accordingly, further legal action will be taken. We'll be sure to keep you posted on the progress of this topic.

Obviously, Peons4Hire is incorporated somewhere that American federal laws apply. That makes them different from most other gold-spamming sites, which are not accessible under U.S. law.

My nephew has been playing WoW lately, & tells me the gold-spam he gets there is far worse than it was in EQ2.

Sony China is incorporated in China and has legal presence to file court action against gm-[Removed for Content]-master.com in Chinese courts. Court location comes down to symantecs in the end.

Then I suggest you write to Sony CHINA.

Claiming that court jurisdictional issues are only semantics is pure silliness.

While I hate gold spammers as much as the next guy, I think you don't realize how difficult it is to stop this kind of stuff.  And World of Warcraft does have it much worse then EQ2 I've found being a former WoW player for nearly 2 years.

Court juristiction is also not sillness and often takes a fleet of lawyers to figure out.  For example, did the violation occur here in or in china.  They sent the tell and collected the gold in china, but that is not a crime.  Its not a against the ELUA till they send you a tell asking to buy gold, which makes you a victim in sorts.  So, as the victim does that transfer juristiction to where you live?  As you know crimes are based off where the crime occured, no prepared.

Please don't cross post WoW posts onto EQ2's GAMEPLAY board.
