having the little arrow icon that let me see what posts i posted in. Also letting me hit the column that said new so i could just see the new posts instead of having to shift through the old ones to see the new ones.

Individual message reply with clear indication of what you didn't write. Login button (come on i must be missing this but where the heck is it???) I had to click PM to get a login screen. The old forums seemed clearer somehow. Eh, ill give these a shot, we'll see.....

Waaaaay up at the top of the screen there's a little clicky that says sign in/change user.  That's how you login now.

As for what I miss.

Floating

Editing

Being able to view just the new posts

The ability to have a tracker for myself.  Going straight to my profile and using the "track all posts by this user" function is how I kept all my forum madness straight.  Now I don't remember what I'm doing, or what conversations I'm in, or where they're gone. Actually, I also really miss having a clear visual indication of which threads I've posted in.

Looks like the edit thing is a bug. Sony designed it to work based off how long you've been registered now.  Good news is if you were registered on the old forums it counts that time as well.  The time required to be registered before you are able to edit a post is 14 days.  So, if Sony's hype about the new forums prompted your 1st visit here you are SOL and have to wait, if you were registered on the old forums for longer than 14 days the work-around is to logout of the forums and back in.

(Edited just to show the 'edited' message SMILEY)

- I'd really love to see "floating" forums and threads again. That is a much missed feature. - Also I miss the "new posts" collumn on the forum index. Now I can only jump to the last post of the topic? What's the use of that? - I'd like to load up my own avatar. I liked the old forum's functions much better to be honest. Good thing: more room for my signature. SMILEY

Mostly what others said, the float, see what ye posted in etc, but also the functionality of the search system. When searching on one or several keywords ye used to be able to sort the results in different ways, especially time wise. Doin a search now and and gettind results from 2004-2005 that are totally outdated and not bein able to filter it in any form is a pain.

I miss Sorting functions for my search returns!  Primarily sorting by date is most missed, but I should be able to click on my results and search by any of these headers: Category, Forum, Topic, Subject, Author, OR Post Date.  Searches are far less useful to me when I need to sift through page after page; pages of sifting that I could avoid if you let me sort my search results.
I miss being able to tell at a glance what threads I have posted in, how many total posts there have been in that thread, and how many new posts have been made since my last reading.

Nitpicking on the quotes again. Good job getting the boxes around, but can they be indented now.  I'm sure this low on the totem, but it looks better that way.
