Hello all...I'd like to introduce you to my little friend Boris the Pig.  He's a fat little friend I'm donating to a house a friend has asked me to decorate.  This is him in his new home, plenty of room for Boris to roam around and stretch his stubby lil legs, and there's even a cute little shack for him.

However, as you can see here, Boris is very very hungry...

Try as I might, I can't figure out what (if anything) to put in his trough!  I've thought about the swamp shrubs, but used them in his little home as straw.  I also thought about the apples, but not sure how the bowls they are in would hide in the crate (or create a stackability issue).  And knowing Boris, he'd rather have something "sloppish" for his trough.

I know this forum is filled with some very, VERY creative people and am hoping to reach out to some of them.  Does anyone know how I can feed my lil piggy? SMILEY I truly am at a loss here.

Thanks much for any insight! (from me and Boris!)

Aww!  Such a cute little sty!  Sorry, I dont' have any idea what you could use, but I wanted to tell you how wonderful he looks and I'm sure as soon as you can get him some dinner, he will be very happy.

Too cute!

All that comes to mind would be to use a mixture of several things: like the apples you mentioned, maybe some eggs (either type) poking out somewhere, the stems of some roses as 'greens', pumpkin pie for a grain effect, and/or the top of a bread loaf.  With enough items, you can probably keep all the edges hidden.  It wouldn't be soupy like I think of with the 'slop' you mentioned, but it would certainly be a variety for him to choose from.

That's so cute!  I agree, the apples and bread may be perfect for that!

Thanks very much for the wonderful ideas, I'll have to give some of those things a try tonight.  I'll be sure to follow up with hopefully a picture of a fat (and satisfied) Boris.  Thanks again SMILEY

Am I the only one thinking about feeding him the sliced ham?

Wonder if you could get the halasian boiling pots to work for a more "soupy" feel.  The apples are stackable.  (I have 'em stacked in my one storage room).

Awww, that is so cute.

I would have to with OPs, that the apples would work well as well as the pumpkin and apple pies. The bowl of fens leaves might work as well to give it a more organic feel.

Marvelous!!! So creative and well executed!!!! Fabulous idea! I thought of using that piece as a country sink, however, it makes a perfect trough! I have always thought the marble eggs look more like potatoes then eggs, so throw a few of them in as well. The stems on the potted lilies can look like celery also. I love the pumpkin, apple combo too. Fantstic job! I love this SO much you have no idea! Simply the most original and incredible design I've seen in a long time. Very Well Done!

Both Boris and I would like to thank ALL of you for your wonderful contributions.  I think I made/bought everything suggested and fiddled with them until I found something I think worked out well enough.  It may not be "slop" but it's definately a hearty meal fit for a king (well in this case, pig)!

Once again, thanks for all your help, I was stuck and couldn't have done it with out you...

On an interesting side note (this probably goes out to Casta directly hehe), when I saw those crates my jaw dropped and I thought of a couple different things I could use them for.  Pig trough was definately no where on my mental list of possibilities...I was originally planning on using them for dishwashers or window-box planters (giving out my leet plans, ooooh noes!!!), but then I saw my poor little pig and remembered previous dilemnas of the old buckets for troughs and their inadequacies.  It was so perfect for the job...it wasn't funny.  Well maybe a lil funny, I got to make a cute post about it SMILEY

This house is forever a work in progress, perhaps one day when I FINALLY finish it (not holding my breath) I'll share it with you and show you Boris' true home SMILEY

It looks amazing.

Although I still think the ham would've been hilarious.

It's lovely!  Oh dear, I hope my pigs don't see this post, since they will almost certainly insist on my scratching up the item count to replace their meat bucket with something more like this.

Great use of the empty box!  (which is one of the rewards from the Rime faction quest series in RoK)

That turned out great!  So fun to see it go from conceptual idea with requests for assitance to an actually wonderful design.  Good job!

I love those pictures of the filled trough.  Could you maybe move them to page 1 of the thread?
