We have email notifications!  Thank you, whoever decided to wake this particular hamster up.  SMILEY  He's been a slacka since February!  You get multicolored bouncy things as a token of our appreciation!

First and foremost, Thank you. The new boards have come a long way towards improving over the previous boards. We really do appreciate all of the developers support. However, please ensure us that you are all aware and keep track of the following: LinkThe only reason that I ask is that I could swear that the notification issue was on the top list since the change over. I could be wrong about that but I seem to remember it being one of the first items added and your comments above made me second guess whether or not the web developers are following along with our willingness to help track the issues, concerns and wishes of the forum posters.I'm sure that this post wasn't really necessary but it's always nice to get a little reassurance now and again. Thanks again for everything.

Yes I have seen that thread.  It's not entirely up to date as far as the bugs go.  The target=_new and signature links have been fixed for quite some time now.  As far as the functionality lost and wishlists go, the community team has to decide which features they want and go through the proper channels to get time allocated to create those features.   The only one of those that came up recently was the post as character only showing guilded characters.  I know that's in the bug list.

I'm happy to update the list when I know something has been fixed.  A lot of times though the problem with that is we are not told when things are actually fixed (there are no release notes posted).I am fully on board with the notion that issues have to be prioritized and that kind of thing, but it is a bit scary when we see that issues the community has known about for some time are just being noticed.Nothing personal with you Sentinel -- I am absolutely thrilled the email thing is fixed.  I just wish we could sort out the forum issues as a whole and ensure all the ones the community is seeing is at least known among folks like yourself.  How you prioritize them is something I'm happy to leave in your capable hands. SMILEYIf it makes sense and I'm sure you likely have the ability, you have my blessing to edit the stickied thread with comments in another color or that kind of thing.  I'm sure the community would appreciate some official word on the various issues!

In the sig iframes, I can view the source code and verify that the code is still deficient.  The sig iframe source specifies _new" />, not "_blank"...this post is an example of how "_new" doesn't work with IE -- which is by far the most commonly used browser on PCs.  Because this functionality is broken in IE, links in signatures that do not specify target="_blank" open in the sig iframe.

Changing that one little value would knock out two issues on the "borked" list.  SMILEY  Note that this is only the case in the sig iframes, NOT in the forum posts themselves...they have the appropriate "_blank" value.

Another thing that causes more than a little irritation are the WYSIWYG errors that occur when quoting or editing a post; namely, [email protected] personas are parsed as email addresses (case in point :p ) and smiley code gets corrupted.

All the other stuff in the Forums Issues list is gravy, as far as I'm concerned...these two issues are at the very top of my "geez, wish they'd get that fixed" list.

on the khrunk iframe sig, I see <base target="_top"/> and the link works fine in ie for me.  Maybe that page is cached for you by your browser cache? The smiley code getting corrupted is in the bug list, too.  not sure about the mailto linking issue, I'll have to check. BTW, I also tried Safari on XP (since I don't have a mac) and the link to the safari problem in TStorms list seems to render just fine.  As the matter of fact I made this reply with quote using safari and as you can see all the new lines and html formatting is there.  I think that one can be marked off unless you can find another post that has that problem.

Caching may be a part of the problem, but there's definitely something screwy with the user sig page code...such as the tag not being between the tags like it should be.  SMILEY  (Here's the W3C documentation.)  I tried some hard refreshes -- even viewing the sig page file directly and doing another hard refresh -- and I'm still not able to click Khrunk's sig and have the Imageshack site open anywhere but inside the sig iframe in IE7.  Oddly enough, it seems to load properly IE6 (in a pure VPC environment) and in Firefox.  SMILEY

I don't recall seeing any posts recently about this issue and since I don't use Safari myself, I'm removing it from the list.  I figure if you've tried to make sense of it and noone is able to clarify an issue like this further, it's fair to remove it.If anyone is still noticing Safari issues, please speak up and give us some new information to help us make sense of it.
