In addition to events that happen seasonally and those put on by the Community Team, there are also a number of special events happening both in-game and on the web that EverQuest II community members are invited to participate in. Here are two special events happening in August!

MMOUI’s 10th Anniversary Celebration!

Begins August 16, 2012

MMOUI is celebrating our tenth anniversary, and we just wanted to say thanks for a fantastic decade! From the first user created interfaces in MMORPGs to the current day, MMOUI (EQ2Interface) has been here! We’ve got eight sites covering nine games, we’re Official Fan Site members for almost every game we support, and we’ve got nearly a million registered users (with an exponentially higher number of unregistered ones). But what’s a celebration without games and giveaways? Go to EQ2Interface to see the challenges and try for your shot at one of the giveaways!

Pay It Forward!

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Pay It Forward began on the Freeport server. The event is an opportunity for adventurers and crafters to meet on the Isle of Mara and donate goods to young adventurers. The only requirement is that in return for the in-game loot they receive, these individuals will perform some random good deed for a stranger. For more information about Pay It Forward in general, visit this post in the forums.

Here are the specifics for the upcoming Pay It Forward event:

Who: Anyone who cares to help make their server a better place, and has items to give away (crafted or not)

When: Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 1:00 pm (PDT)*

Where: Isle of Mara, next to the crafting houses just off the docks**

*For Unrest players, the event will begin at 10:00 am PDT; Splitpaw will have the event at 4:00 pm GMT. Convert to Your Local Time.

**For Nagafen players, please meet up on Moors (there will be immunity there so players can enjoy the event)

Hosts: Each server has a volunteer host who you can contact for more information. Here is a list of participating servers:

Freeport – Fille

Nagafen – Jarack

Guk – Kattapault

Everfrost – Gems

Antonia Bayle – Taysa and the Knights of Freeport guild

Butcherblock – Hykata

Unrest – Lynarra and Darkpit

Permafrost – Arkix

Splitpaw – Giavania

If you do not see your server listed and want to volunteer as a host, please visit the forums and speak to Fille.

Nagafen is actually going to need 3 hosts since good, evil and exile factions cannot speak to trade with or group with each other directly. If a host is needed on the evil side, I would like to volunteer to help out since I have 9 master crafters with all recipes and people could meet up in my guild hall in Freeport. I have tons of materials I could help equip new players, and many house items that I either no longer use or are just sitting around taking up bank space and house space. I'd be more then happy to help some people out.

You can send me an ingame mail on Gneaux which is my main character on Nagafen evil side.

Just a quick note to thank Dexella for being all kinds of awesome and helping to get the word out for the Pay it Forward event. I really couldn't have asked for anything more, she's been absolutely wonderful -- adding in-game notification on your calendar and just being available for communication about it, plus a rather nifty write up. Lovely person, we're lucky to have her.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to drop me a line via PM or in-game (freeport.fille if you're not on Freeport server).

A few amendments for various servers:

*Unrest's event will carry on throughout the day, but starts at 1pm (EST).

*Butcherblock server will host its event at 8pm (CST) on Mara

*Nagafen folks will meet up on the Moors because it allows for immunity and lets players enjoy the event.

*Splitpaw server will host its event at 4pm GMT on Mara

Thanks for the updates!

For those of you participating in Pay it Forward tomorrow, please post any stories about your experiences (and screenshots, if you get some)!

Well phooey, I hadn't noticed the changed time on Butcherblock.. and I can't make the new time SMILEY

Maybe I'll catch Hykata on before that and pass some things on to share out.

I know, right! Apparently nothing has happened on Nagafen. I received an ingame mail frim Fille on Freeport server telling me who to contact, and I waited all day long up in the Moors and the guy never showed up,, maybe we should just do something ourselves without him as I was looking forward to participating as well

I took a friend of mine on our 2 lowbies my new one I made just to level wiht him so he'd have someone to play with and he understood what I had meant about the great community we have in eq2 especially on my home server Guk. He was able to get a few pieces of armor and some shinies as well and he actually won 50p from someone asking for songs he'd never heard of before and my friend being free to play couldn't hold it but he told him I would for hold it for(me being a gold account) him and that was ok so now My friend has has 50p to spend on broker and other things when ever he wants. I look forward to introducing him to the guide quests as well later on.

Thank you to all the orginaizers, hosts and participents of this event, It helped me to show my friend why I like playing eq2 so much.

We had a great time on Butcherblock in all it's chaotic messiness! I posted our highlights in the player events forum you can read about it and leave your comments there.

Sorry if I missed any of you trying to get information etc. next time, i have a team in place and people to help me with announcments, etc. This time it was pretty much me until the final week when Malice of Wonderland guild stepped up to the home plate and knocked it out of the park for me.

Everyone who participated, I'd love to hear your comments about the event! Some discussion has already been going on in the Player Events forum: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=520933

If anyone took screenshots, please post them as well! I'm hoping to do a wrap-up feature on this soon.

Sadly nobody stepped up to volunteer to host it for either Oasis or Crushbone .. maybe next time

And really bummed to hear about naggy, but the first time this event runs it tends to be a little bumpy. Next time I'll corner you Gneaux from the get-go SMILEY
