Just a quick question, how viable would that be? Say if i want to just get to cap pretty quickly then worry about catching up my aas. Im thinking instead of just running around all over trying to do quests, i take my merc to an area with yellow cons and just grind out levels like that seems like it would be faster?

What do you think?

Well, there's no wrong way to level, really. Is setting your slider at 50% all the way faster than 0%? Obviously no, because you're taking a cut of XP. Add in a merc's cut and you're slowing down significantly, unless you're purely running dungeons with a ton of mobs or using potions that can recoup your losses. If you just want to hit cap fast with your merc and recover the AAs later, you CAN set it to 0% and go..but remember, come 90 you're going to need 280 AA to level. Most of us do the "get to level X, set slider to 100%, grind AA, hit goal and then set slider back to 50%". Is it fast? Eh, depends on the person, but being stuck without AA at high levels (level x 3 is ideal) sucks.

TL;DR Version: I'd just set it to 50% and enjoy the ride, especially if you're new. SMILEY

Some love it, some hate it but grinding is a very viable way to level.

That said, you probably won't be able to get lvl 90/280AA with the slider at only 50%. If you're not bronze/silver, just set the slider at 100% when you hit a good grindspot for some extra AA.

Level x 3, so at level 50 you'd aim for 150 to keep on the progress of having 270 at level 90 (thus only grinding 10 pure AAs to get 280 and unlock the gate to 92).

However, if you're not a grouper/raider, I personally think it's okay to have less than 270 hitting 90; just again, realize, that you're going to have to grind some of it somewhere if you want to be 92.

If we only talk about leveling to cap, you'll want 280+AAs when you hit 90 to be able to continue to 92. That's 3.11 AA/level pre-90.

When I tried this with an alt here is where I was at when I hit 90.

Edit - Hit 10 and the system gave me 6 AA to start.

Edit - Level 25 - 17 AA.

Edit - Level 40 - 50 AA.

Edit - Level 55 - 82 AA.

Edit - Level 70 - 130 AA. (from 55 to 70 I did a lot more dungeon hopping. I tried to follow the dungeon timeline with doing each dungeon once then moving on to the next. I suspect this increased discovery and named AA.)

Edit - Level 85 - 193 AA. Continued to do dungeon hopping.

Edit - Level 90 - 232 AA.

After I hit 90 I waited until a double XP weekend then took the alt to Chelsith and hit 280 AA in about an hour.

Chelsith doesn't do the same alt leveling it used to - they nerfed the bubbles.

When I'm PLing to get a character to 92 as fast as possible, I just level as fast as I can with the AA slider at 0%.   Then when I start AA leveling, there's pretty much nowhere I can't go to do it.    Since I've played this for awhile, I can usually get a character maxed out very quickly.

I recently started leveling a healer for a progression guild.   3 or 4 AA per level is what you are aiming for.  You want 160 by level 50, since that's what you can spend at that level.  You DEFINITELY want 280 by level 90 or you can't level further.

Since you are at a viable level to do more things at 90 than the rest of the game (pretty much - that's a kind of overarching statement), you really want 300 AA by 90, IMO.   If you are at 90, play like you were 90 - just my 2.

If I were to set my AA slider at 50%, I'd run screaming from the game ...it would take me so long to level either adventurer or AA.  IMO, that way lies madness.   Just level with your AA slider at 0.  If you are more than 50 percent into the level and you don't have the requisite 3 AA for the level, lock it at 100 percent AA till you do, then unlock and move on.

Bottom line: Most kind of leveling is viable, you pick what works for you. I generally powerlevel my alts to 200'ish AA at level 15, but thats with a 2nd acc.

It's super fast to get aa in DM's so going at 0% might be safe. I'm seeing people go from 80 to 150 aa in a hour or so.

Like +5 aa in a short period and a few min later same thing.

Sadly (or not), you'll need to spend $40 for AOD to get access to the DM's.

But getting to 90 with 280 aa is the easy part. After that you need to buy DOV for $20 and get your full AA's. Then probably buy gold sub because most everything in that level range is not treasured; legendary/mythical/etc.

So , in your view , getting 90 / 280 is easy, the hard part is actually spending some cash on the game you like ?

Is that what you are saying ?
