I am really struggling to understand the thinking, or lack of, in this decision. Many players have either paid a hefty amount to cash upgrade to GM, research for roughly 193 days through GM, find the stupidly rare pages to upgrade the level 10 ascensions to get to the 18% potency boost, or with the Ancient +3 fervor, only to have it all made worthless with the new expansion. Let me tell you, +3.6ish fervor is worthless coming from 18% pot +3 fervor.
It would have been far better to add an additional fervor ascension that could be used in conjunction with the existing one. But to outright change the stats after we paid for them is a real bait and switch tactic. I won't bother paying for another research when we have no idea if or when they will be swapped again. This needs to be reconsidered. If high potency is such a worry, then cap it at something reasonable, 75k for example. |

no, we'll be able to research ancient in CD but celestial cannot be researched (only ascensions can be celestial level)

Gm is 3 fervor
Ancient is twice 3.6 fervor = 7.2 fervor |

This seems to be incredibly lazy development regardless of the money and time people have put into these. there must have been a meeting where someone just said "dude, just call it Wildfire II".
Whilst the art in the new expansion looks great it also seems even more cash shop garbage is coming now. How much research time in days are these level 15 spells going to take? Also remember a few years ago when Bethesda got rightly ridiculed for selling horse armour DLC in Oblivion? We are literally at that point with this game now... |

Just like this ascension, there are other AA's that went from increased percentage based potency( which becomes huge with large potency numbers), to a small amount of fervor...
Im hoping these numbers are just placeholders for now until they can see what happening to DPS numbers... For example ranger AA burning intensity went from 12.5% base potency to a flat 1.3 fervor..and you have to cast 12 certain combat arts to proc it!..so needless to say im assuming the number is a placeholder otherwise there is no use to include that in AA build. |

![]() To level your horse to level 10 (the max) takes 99 days, and I'll guess you can shorten that using the cash shop. However, you get gear slots opening as you level, so you don't have to wait to start gearing the mount. The gear is not armor. It's giving stats like potency or fervor, or increased mount speed, etc. There is also mount gear for tradeskillers that adds success chance, critical success chance, and boosts experimentation, so I suspect we'll be putting that on our tradeskill mounts. |

A lot of AAs are irrelevant now. Blockers. Immunities, min fervor, etc. game is whole heartily about ascensions. WBD still attached to spells when autoattack is still worthless. Honestly looks like they are just trying to generate money to keep the game alive. I will be dropping my amount of subs though.

It’s hard to have so many choices for balance.
I love the idea of AAs and really being able to twik your toon the way u want. But balancing 26 classes while keepibg their core design is hard and keeping that customization relevant is even harder. For just 1 class u need to create abilities or buff/nerf them so most at least have around the same power level and making sure no ability is too op so one class is not favorired. And keeping such a level of customization takes a whole class team. No surprise wow removed the tree or Ff14 doesn’t really offers customization. There were action abilities but already out of 10 there were clear choices. But eq2 cannot update AAs and cannot remove them while proposing something new. So we’re stuck with 4 clases and u deal with it or u quit. That’s the way it is and won’t get better. Once u accept that, life is easier |

And also that’s why spending too much money doesn’t mean you’ll stay forever on top. Their financial system needs u to spend cash on the game, so everything is ephemeral and if u want to keep your level, u’ll have to keep paying.
Accepting this fact also makes life easier ![]() |
