Excuse formatting, i'll fix it up in a little while /sighGiven that there have been many people coming to these forums requesting Fury hints and tips, and how a fury is to play; I thought I would write a FAQ for furies, and how I play mine (and hopefully add in how everyone else plays theirs)The main part of being a Fury is that you are a Priest- which means that you are a Healer. The Fury archetype is Druid, which means you use Heal over Time spells (will now be referred to as HoTs) Druids are offensive healer types. The Fury archetype is Druid, which means you use Heal over Time spells (will now be referred to as HoTs) Druids are offensive healer types. Wardens can do single target damage, whereas furies are more suited to Area of effect(AE or AoE) Furies are by no means the 'best' healer although they can definitely Single heal a group. You will find that Furies stack very well with Shaman (Mystics and Defilers) and Clerics(Templars and Inquisitors)Building your CharacterWhat Stats should I concentrate on?This question is very dependant on what sort of healer you want to play. The main stats for a defensive or group healer is WISdom and STAmina. The main stats for an offensive healer are WISdom and INTelligence you can see these in your profile by pressing P for your Personae TabWIS effects your Power pool. It does NOT effect your healing power, only the endurance of it. Wisdom is important for your power pool, as your Offensive spells, Damage over Time (dot) and Direct Damage (DD or Nuke) will cost a fair bit of power.STA effects your own personal health pool, allowing you to stay alive if you take some hits.INT effects your Damage output. INT is a damage modifier for all your skills. it doesnt make your nukes do masses amounts of difference, but it is definitely noticable.STRength effects your melee damage (we dont have any melee combat arts, so it's just our weapon wielding) It also effects how much you can carryAGIlity effects avoidance, PvP and soloers might want to buff this skill to not be interrupted as muchWhat Race should I play? Many people believe that choosing your race makes no difference. I believe that it makes no difference at the 'end game' as stats are relatively easy to come by. Early on, stats make a reasonable difference to your progression (pre-level 30 - which is roughly 7-12 hours of gametime, depending on how hard you plan on levelling rather than questing/RPing) The general consensus is: Play something you are comfortable looking at, because you will be looking at it for a very long time. Why should I play a Fury instead of any other healer?Furies are offensive Healers. They can solo relatively well (not as well as a DPS class, but they dont spend hours killing one mob) Being able to heal and do decent damage helps soloing a lot. If you are only going to concentrate on healing a group, I would suggest you have a look at a different subclass, which is more suited to just healing. Druids are suited to Healing, with a bit of damage on the side.Starting out!Are there good and bad ways to solo?Generally soloing is subject to personal choice, in the early levels there isnt a massive range of ways to solo. Generally starting off with a single HoT on yourself (group as well if you need it) and attack the first mob with your longest highest damage spell. This is done because interrupts are a fury's worst nightmare, and those long casting times will be interrupted a lot.s you gain ranks you will see that there are multiple ways to solo, which become incredibly easier once you get your big AE nuke, Starburst at 32Group Healing?!Group Healing revolves around keeping your tank alive. This guy is the meatshield for the rest of the group, designed to keep agro, and stay alive. Your job is keeping the tank alive. The best way to do this is to put all your single buffs on him to start with. Savagery(24), Bristles(2), and Spirit of the Bat(35) are always on my tank, or their upgrades(see next question)Before the tank pulls, start with a single HoT on him, and cast your Group HoT when he is coming back.In a Melee group: Start with your Stinging insects(1) because this will allow everyone in the group to hit him more easily with melee weapons. Also use your Fae Fire(35) skill with melee classes, as this will boost their dps considerably) Intimidation will make the mobs easier to hit, but usually isnt worth it for single encounters. In a Caster group: Start with Intimidation, as less Wisdom will lower resistance of the mob, and spells will hit for more.Make sure your Hots stay up at all times, this is very important if you are solo healing. Having the tank take damage that you are unprepared for could lead to him dying. Use your direct heals to help him stay alive. This gets much easier at 52 with Back Into The Fray. Until then, Elixir, and then Salve are your best ways to deal with damage. I usually cast them in that order.Upgrades?!Upgrades to your spells come roughly every 14 levels. You can see a very good post about your spell lines by Almanac here: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=17&message.id=10893The mob is hitting me what do I do?!!If you are soloing, either Kill it, or run away. /y or /yell will yell for help, and break the targetted encounter, or if no target - all encounters that you (and your group) are in. Yelling means that you will return to out of combat regeneration, and run speed, making getting away easier. If you are grouping, once you hit level 13 you receive a skill called Brambles. This will reduce your hate(deagro) in point blank area of effect (PBAE)Remember not to do this when there are lots of encounters around you, as you will agro them all, but its useful to get mobs off you.I Get a Snare!Snare is awesome for PvP, you can use it to stop that pesky runner from making a clean getaway, for PvE you wont find it as useful though. Remember this skill uses subjugation, so if its not landing often, it's likely to be because your subjugation skill is low. We only get 2 subj. lines, our reduce hate (brambles line) and this skill.Where do I get my Fun Spells?Fluff spells are purchased from a "Fury Trainer" npc in Qeynos or Freeport. In Qeynos, the Fury Trainer is near the Celestial Watch in North Qeynos (north of the moat). In Freeport, the Fury Trainer is found near the Temple of War in North Freeport (across from the library). If you're having trouble finding the trainer, go to the zone, find a guard, and ask for directions to the fury trainer.Briefly you can do the following: Turn yourself nto a: Badger, Faerie. Turn anyone(including yourself) into a: Random chicken-like alien. Cast an effect: Glow Yellow/Green, Yellow Rings, Storm Effect.Additionally your AA turns you into a wolf; and your self buff turns you into a Lion.If you are wondering why your lion is different from other people's lions; its because it takes your gender. If you arent a male already, you arent going to get a mane, sadly. If you want to turn into other forms, you can collect bones for all the 'standard' races; a bone collection results in a Petrified Eye, which can be used in conjunction with any bone of similar flavour to change your appearance. You can also get a HQ from Nektropos Castle to turn into a Dark Elf, and a Dragon Insignia Collection to turn into a Vultak.Where do I get My Armour Quest from? For those who are Aligned with the forces of Good: In South Qeynos, under the tree on the east side. Selwyn Oakheart will give you quests for all your armour pieces.Ogaming do a good walkthrough for her quests.Find it here: http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/SelwynsErrandsPartI.phpFor our Evil Brethren, go to Vassi Darkscale in the Jade Tiger Inn in North Freeport (thanks to xOnaton1 )http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/VassisOrdersPartI.phpWhat about Armour Quests after 30?The Deputy Line in Enchanted Lands gives Excellent rewards for 30+, Starts from the Deputy on the steps down from EL dockOther 30+AQs are from Zek Docks, Striker(?) on the top of the barricade in the middle gives quests for emerald armour (although imo its more brawler oriented)40+armour is rare pelts unless you want to raid - apart from the GEBS, you can get the EyePatch from EF, but its not really worth the effort IMO - and you will have levelled beyond it by the time you get it without help from higher levels.50+Armour is also rare pelts, and Pearl Jewellery (is a major step up from t5 jewellery)60+ Armour is easy enough to find if you group through instances a lot, I would stick with rare t6 armour, as mostly what hits you is going to kill you if its heroic in KoS (and I havent had a problem soloing so far)What Heritage Quests or other significant quests should I complete as a Fury?Stiletto's Orders - Gives the Manastone HP->Power charm item - Starter note from Stilleto, a named rat in Thundering Steppes. - You will need a raid of 12 to complete this around level 30 (or you can just out-level it) also requires Access to Chamber of Immortality in the Ruins of Varsoon, and Cove of Decay Access, started in RoV, continued in TS.Saving Soles - Golden Efreeti Boots FT6(?)- Started from Charley the Goblin in Lavastorm - lvl 40Vessel of Fyrr'Un - Started from a Book in Lost Temple(off the Sinking Sands) - You will need lvl 56+ just to get here, and a full group to complete it (60+grp at least) - gives a HP->power Charm ItemPrismatic Quest Series - Speak as a Dragon - Starts from The Sage of Ages in Maidens Gulch off Lavastorm (best way to it is coming down from the top of LS Teleporter) - Gives a power regeneration macePeacock Quest Line - Starts near the Golden Sceptre in Maj'Dul - Gives a Power regeneration Mace/Wand/Staff.Mark of Awakening - level 70 regeneration neck piece - starts from an Exiled Droag on the East side of Drednever Crash site. FT5 (?)Druzic's Quest - cant remember the name. - lvl 60+ FT2 ring in Bonemire, starts from Druzic (he gives you a quest to get back up once you fall down to where he is)Any non-essential but helpful Quests I should do?Call of Ro - quest that lets you call to Maj'Dul; you will need to be friendly with one of the courts in MD to gain access to this quest.Splitpaw Access - Complete 3 quests in the Splitpaw Dungeon for your teleportation shard. This gives you a quick way to access the Thunderring Steppes, as well as another way to get to a mender if you are in need, and your 'Call' is down. What are AAs?Blackguard best explains them here:http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=faq&message.id=27What about Fury AAs?Almanac has an excellent explanation here:http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=17&message.id=10893Upgrading spells.Upgrading is paramount, as it now is the only major way to effect the effects of your spell. It used to be that the consideration (con) colour of the spell effected how it worked, but no more! You may not want to include PvP information here, but Snare is prominent on my hotbar and is one of my most used spells. Keep this active on your target so that when they run (and they usually do) you will be able to keep up and finish them off.

![]() Very good information. I will say though, one of the toughest things for me coming to a fury from another class was aggro managment. Casting your HoT on the tank before he pulls is a great way to negate the damage he takes early in the fight, without getting alot of hate. If you let him get too low on health early, and then have to chain cast heals to keep him alive, you can expect lots of attention from mobs. Also, snare is invaluable in PvP. Again, a great post.

I was considering making a 'what spells to upgrade first' by tier? I think this is pretty obvious based on what i've said i think; not sure whether the time/effort is justified :>

![]() Very nice. Spells however, are from 1-0, not 0-0. I mean 51-60, and 61-70. I have SOB on myself for the regeneration, not the tank. I do not cast a hot on tank before he pulls, and I do not cast either the single or grp hot on tank while he pulls. I have found that creates a lot of agro. Once he/she engages mob, I cast Fray or Wild to bring hps to max, then the single hot. If needed, the grp hot follows, otherwise its maintaining the single hot and fray or wild. HH 67 Fury, Unrest |

![]() Nice faq. You might want to add AGI to your list of fury attributes as number four. I know quite a few people that like to keep AGI to increase avoidance, including myself. Drumly aka The Tang |

For level 10-19 rare spells, only Rough Coral can be used now in the new system. I assume the same is true for T1, i.e. only Lapis Lazuli and not Copper Cluster can be used.

![]() ATM, Silver cluster is still useable for making suzuri ink. This suzuri ink can be used as the rare for an adept 3 T2 spell, in place of Coral. This will probably not be the case once the TS changes are completed... The other night, I bought 3 silver clusters from the broker for 1g a piece, making them all into Adept 3 scrolls. Just took a little extra work... Very nice when you consider rough coral goes for 10g+ Haven't tried this with copper(T1), but it's likely to work as well.

![]() Not exactly, no. Priest, mage and scout spells can be made with copper and silver still, but you need to make the rare ink and then make the spell in the old style of crafting. Tell your friends this because silver and copper sells on the broker for much less than coral and lapis lazuli. Our first achievement spell gives you a snow wolf, treant, or tiger illusion depending on what type of weapon you are weilding. You can simply wield the type of weapon, cast the buff and switch back to your preferred weapon though. This needs to be done every time you zone, revive or log in also. All illusions stack but you will only see the form of the first illusion.Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLereVaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere |

Quick thing, on the list of rare harvests for spell creation it is missing 30-40 which I believe is Opal and something else.

I'm sorry, I'm new to the Fury character (just dinged 20 and got my first AA). Are you saying that I can apply all the AA shapeshifts at one time by just switching weapons and re-casting? Meaning I can apply ALL the bonus's at one time?

Originally, whatever weapon you had when casting the illusion determined the shape, and focus effect. The shape is still determined by what weapon you wield when you cast the spell. But my understanding is they (were suppose to have) changed that, and the focus effect is governed by what ever weapon you are wielding, so if you wield a staff, and get treant form for crit heals, and switch to a mace and shield, the effect that will work is dd crits not crit heals, unless you go back to wielding the staff. Course, if they really fixed that or not. meh.

Also it means that your peerless predator will stack with your aa shape which will stack with totem shapes if you use them but it will be which ever you cast first that you will appear as.

![]() I am fairly certain that it's still what weapon is worn when you cast it. It makes no sence for the illusion and bonus to change seperatly. If you changed buffs upon changing weapons, then your shapechange form would immediatly change also as they are tied to the same bonus check. The change thing talked about with lu21 was adressing a different issue that warden's were having with thier AA not stacking with their self buff wolf line, the dev's just did the worst job ever of wording the change. ;PFor healing on the pull, I tend to live dangerously. If it's a harder pull i will usually start with precasting Hibernation and then Greater Bloodblow (just got master tonight *jumps for joy*). If i time this right and get both to land before the pull aggro stays with the tank, if his countdown is off and he pulls before they both land, i tend to nab aggro though. To counter this I have focused a lot on +STA/hp lately, and am now at 422sta and over 5500hp solo-buffed. This allows me to take at least one hit from anything but a nasty named or 4x epic On a major raid pull i augment this further by going Hibernation (on 5 count), Greater Bloodflow, Urchin. Timed correctly, Urchin goes off just as he pulls for maximum duration. Also, I took the self rez AA line which gives me a little extra protection incase i really snap aggro bad. (Deaggro being of course the first line of defence if i pull it) Usually however, if i grab aggro through this the tank's taunt lands between the mob passing him, and getting to me, so the mob turns back to him and is pre-turned with it's back to the dps. ;P Yes, i tend to keep tank's more awake like this, but generally it works out ok. ;P Also the threat generation decrease down our wis AA line is nice if you like to live more dangerously. ;PI tend to keep Spirit of the Bat on myself for the power regen. the small +agi it gives would hardly touch a tanks avoidance, but the + to power regen in nice for me. |

Even not on PvP I still use snare at every chance. It does make a difference in normal questing servers, if not epic.

Hey furies!DO you stand in the back and pull., or mix nukes/whatever with the green you toss around? If you mix, do people give you a hard time for doing this - and tell you to stay in the back and heal? for me, telling me to ignore over half my spells, except in 4X raid formation and/or hitting up heroic yellows or oranges, is a good reason to type /disband/9 lvl 62 fury healer with teeth lfg - pst

![]() I personally DPS as much as I can, since I enjoy it quite a lot. I use mainly the DD and AE for that when in groups, and keep dots for solo ... but it very much depends on the situation. When I'm secondary heal, I mainly if not only DPS. I only switch to healing if the situation becomes unhealthy. As for what people say ... I don't care. I just make sure not to make mistakes (let someone die to place a Star Nova). |

![]() Depending on the Mob that the tank pulls first, I usually hit him up with a Dot heal or a full heal, and if the aoe's hit I let the grp heal hit and then I snare, fye, tempest, swarm, heal as required, maintain the dots then nuke then heal. If the Mob is really tough and I'm the only healer, I maintain the tank and grp members when I can, and if a grp member goes red I throw the saver and back into the fray and if I don't catch them I rez when i can. Most grp players that are any good at all will realize the tank comes first, and take a death to keep the grp moving.

usually start with single hot, then depending on the group - if there is a lot of dps, I will just nuke, if there arent many dps I will debuff then nuke (intimidation line for mages, defence debuff with scouts[usually chuck on intim as well with scouts])I nearly always nuke, if you didnt want a healer to nuke, roll a shaman

If any bold Fury wants, if you copy & paste all of the original post into a new topic/post, all of the formatting will be proper and look neat. I was going to do it, but I don't even have a Fury, I was just looking up some info and was greeted by a goofed up FAQ. I'd happily do it, but I thought it'd be better if someone who played the class did it so they could keep up with it. I think even if the OP came back (post history says it's quite a few months) and edited, it would show up nicely.
