The fix will probably require server downtime. I'll post as soon as I can letting you folks know a more exact schedule.

An immediate 20 minute down time is much more preferable then leaving the game broken overnight

indeed, shut the game down today if it means you can fix it - it makes no sense to leave it like this for any period of time.

We are indeed going to be emergency hotfixing this today. Shouldn't be too long of a downtime.

However we did find one small issue that we are working on fixing but is not as high of a priority we felt it should hold up the hotfix. Just as a heads up if you are in battle with an NPC and it puts of dot on you and it dies the spell still has the potential to use the default bonuses that are present on live right now. Which means once the NPC dies if the spell is not removed on death the spell then has a change of hitting you as a critical.

We will get this fixed asap but you will see it in some rare cases after the patch. We felt this wasn't something that should hold up getting the bigger issue of NPCs critting during combat out to the live servers for you guys who are playing today.

ok..   but didn't i see the predetor CA/debuff changed to potency debuff?  why is still still debuffing crit chance?     is this some sort of PVP thing?

never mind...

it was mystk that got the potency debuff removed lol...  pred was just primary stats with a 10% boost per AA spent

Mystic

Bolstering Spirits no longer adds max health and now improves the attributes granted by Bolster, maxing at 23% in total.

Deterioration no longer reduces Potency and Weapon Damage Bonus and now improves the agility and strength reductions by 20% per rank.

Predator

Noxious Enfeeblement now reduces around 187 to all attributes excluding stamina at level 90.

Enhance: Noxious Enfeeblement now improves the attribute reduction by 10% per rank.

Remember, EQ2 has so much content in it, so much to play...for free! Fixing CM is their top priority.

Rotten tomatoes are deserved here.  We've got a test server; beta testers caught & reported it; it went live anyway.  While there is a lot of content, this mechanic effected pretty much everything at the end game.

This really seems like a good faith mistake. From everything I can tell, they actually DID fix the problem on Test. However, some of the coding was wrong in the patch to live that seems to have had original crit mit removal coding and not the full fix they did on Test. This means... they were listening, but a patch was put through incorrectly. This is far less of a sin than just ignoring the beta testers. Mistakes happen like this. At this point people could rant back and forth about thinking the mistake is or isn't unforgivable. I'm sort of not interested in that.

So is it just a few zones that are messed up or everything?

Getting a lot of different conflicting reports.

No, this was working on test.  The issue is not all files needed to apply it were copied to production.

The fix will probably require server downtime. I'll post as soon as I can letting you folks know a more exact schedule.

Just to update you folks, in case you missed the announcement:

The US Servers will come down on March 20, 2012, approximately between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm PDT, for a hotfix. The estimated downtime is one hour.

We apologize for this interruption and will resume all affected services as soon as the hotfix is completed.

FYI there are no in-game systemwide messages for this, so unless the time is delayed, you are going to have a bunch of POd people.

Did anything useful come out of putting this change on test?

I know there were questions that went completely unanswered for weeks. Are any of these current issues related to those problems?

We did a saved instance of Vallon's Tower EM yesterday, and a fresh instance today.  The ACT parses do indeed show zero crits, but the mobs were doing a ton more damage.  (For example, the second named was totalling 8k more damage per second than he was doing yesterday)

Not sure why if there's no crits.  I guess we stack mitigation adornments now?

Why can't you people just get over it and admit that mistakes happen in pushing out the proper patch?

Does/will Splitpaw need a separate fix, or was the fix included in the SP patch today?

Not really sure how it can be seen as "Ok" to have mobs that are hitting for 200k and one shotting half a raid force after this patch, wasn't happening before with crit mit unless the person just didn't have enough.

LMFAO at the whining.  The forums are full of gripes and complaints about EQ2 being unchallenging.  Well....now its challenging.  LMAFO at the complaints about crit mit.  Well....now its gone.

You whiners got exactly what you wanted.  Let the whining continue.
