Hi Everyone! Just a quick note...

The Dungeon Maker Mystery Crates are being temporarily removed from the Marketplace. We are also adjusting the number of tokens received from dungeons.

We recognize that there are some issues with these items, and they're being reviewed.

We will let you know once these items are available again.

Thanks!

Did the token reward get nerfed too? Dungeons that were giving 200-300 tokens are now giving 50... What Gives?

Yes. We are reducing the amount of tokens received from dungeons as well. The original post was updated.  Thanks for the reminder.

WHY? You just decided for me that I do not want to run DM anymore nor do I want to create one either thanks for making it worthless...

Huge nerf in fact, going from 200 tokens to 30? Really? And ones that give 50-60 now giving 3-5? Wow. That isnt even worth doingm for 3 tokens lol.

Ouch. Having the ability to play as their own character in DM was a great way to get people to try it out and make dungeons. But smacking down the token number so far .... you might as well pulled the rug out from under us. Bad bad idea.

If you are going to decrease the token rewards this sharply, are you also reducing the costs of items?  If not, you just made the Dungeon Maker into a massive grindfest to gain anything useful.  For example, I had a dungeon I ran that yielded 210 marks if I completed it fully.  It now yields 20-30, depending on degree of completion.  Therefore, to earn the items I would like to get, I now have to run the dungeon 90-100 times, instead of 9-10 times.  This turns the entire process into a horrible grindfest.  Please set the marks back to their original levels, as this change makes NO sense whatsoever.  The dungeons I do take 45 minutes to an hour, at least, and I'm not doing them just for senseless experience grinding.  Hopefully more people will speak up and convince you of the ill-considered nature of this alteration.

Well, my initial response to the new Dungeon Maker items was not a good one seeing as they had to be bought in order to be used. Yes I thought they were just being added to the DM, not the Marketplace. Then, we ran a few dungeons and saw we could earn the marks at a fairly decent rate so we ran a few, got some marks, bought a few items and we were *really* enjoying ourselves playing the Dungeon Maker once again.

We made our own dungeon with a 20,220 difficulty rating which would net 205 marks per run. Each run would take us about 40-50 minutes to complete and that was just right we thought. So we ran it off and on through the day as time permitted. All of a sudden we were only getting 34 marks per run. We thought this was a glitch, so we ran it again and 40 minutes later another 34 marks. I unpublished, republished, doublechecked the rating.. then we find out that SOE is nerfing the amount of marks recieved already.

What a letdown.

34 marks for 40 minutes and you need 100-200 marks per DM builder item, or 1000 marks to buy a charm. No thanks.

So now we will probably just let the DM go back to where it has been for months.. another unused aspect of this game. Just when we were starting to have fun with it again and it did not seem to be such a grind the fun is taken away.

The reduction to the tokens earned in DM is temporary. We hope to have token values restored early next week. We'll update you as we have more information.

FULLY restored or partially? Will we get same as we were earlier today, or a new value?

A few minutes to get pretty decent engame charm slots filled for a non raider, plusa mount, plus an unlimited amount of repair kits, cure pots and speed buff tokens?

Plus a 32 slot quiver/sack rendering crafted obsolete, plus 1 48 slot bag?

All for standing in one room firing arrows into packs of mobs hen mowing them down with AoEs?

No one can act shocked, the only thing they could act shocked about it that the devs let this go live as it is.

My dungeon was designed specifically for the number of tokens you get, "500 Tokens-EASY to get Mount".  It was in place before these changes went in.  Any reduction to Tokens will make my Dungeon invalid.

I hope that you take into account many people have designed dungeons with specifics like this and no difficulty levels or tokens should be changed.

The timing for a token nerf (even if temporary) is really horrible!

You just made a big announcement about encouraging people to give DM a shot by playing their own characters, and now they are going to get next to nothing as a reward for doing so. It's going to leave a bad impression on those players who are finally giving it a shot for the first time.

It's just really disappointing to see what could have been a pretty good relaunch promoting DM play turn into something that might only discourage new people.

So will the number of tokens go back to normal? Or are we seeing an across the board decrease as suggested by Zatozia?

SOE is in the process of a whole blitz about the winning Dungeon Maker designers, Play As Yourself, etc. etc. and then bam, Dungeon Maker tokens are off by 70-90%. All this buildup to get people playing Dungeon Maker for nada. SMILEY

If you do not rait you do not need that stats that those charms had on them.

It is ridiculous that they were put in there like that in the first place, there is no challenge to the DM there is no EXP debt, no damage to equipment for dying, nothing the only thing there is is reward. It is a mini game and there is no need for the charms and helms to be what they are.

Its too late, nerf was done for whatever reason to DM and players will loose interest by time - if and when - the amount is restored.

I hate being patrionized with statements like "We Hope......".

How could you possibly have read this post and then replied with 'whine whine raiders spitting dummy' etc.

I clearly say 'non-raiders' and then make a vaild point about the obsoletion of crafted items, plus the ease and trivialisation of getting airbourne.

I'd rather go buy a Dremel and give myself a root canal.

Regardless of how many mobs you designed it to throw on top of you there is no way it warrants giving a charm or helm like these new items.

i grabed a few of those charm fror my alts i want to pick up raid on actually. i think part of the issue was soe didnt take into account that players raiders or nonraiders didnt farm that stuff sooner cause the avatars they orgionally made you use were horrid to noone really bothered now that they allowed your real toons causaly geared - raid geared. Before  the change to play as your own toon i only went in and grabbed a  quiver cause i couldnt stand the avatars given and the time it took to kill stuff with them. now if they berfed the items ill be sad cause they were actaully needed upgrades for my pick up raid alts. As far as raiders whinning about those charms i really dont think that is the case i think it more of the fact there were items ie the orgional post  mounts( which would hurt the station cash market)  / and other consumables that woulda devistated the game ecomony.

the mount has been in ages same as the other items  (i agree  on the new 92 stuff should not be in crates) but you should still be able to get it without it being nerf to useless. but cost way more dm marks
