I'm gonna bet no given that we had a full week at the end of May.  ...however, if they did do the bonus, it would be the first time I actually used the weekend for tradeskills instead of grinding those stupid AAs.   ...finally got those caught up.

I'm wondering on this one too and hoping to see something announced on it soon.  4th of July is usually a time we see something like this going on in years past.

And i need another reason to take a vacation day on Friday.

It's not something I would want, so the OP is probably in luck.

This was last year:

This weekend, from 4pm Pacific on Friday, July 2nd (23:00 GMT) until 10am Pacific on Tuesday, July 6th (17:00 GMT), we will be running BOTH a Double Station Cash promotion *and* a true Double XP (+100% XP) promotion.

Yeah I see a lot of people claiming they're doing one but there's no official announcement, it's not on the calandar or the launcher, and they usually give plenty of notice beforehand... so I have no clue.

I'll believe it when sony says something.

They usually don't...no argument on the second point.

EQ1 announced today they are doing it, usually all the games do the same thing on holidays so I suspect we will see the announcement for EQ2 Tuesday.

I'd have to warn you, that since the change in xp system in the tradeskilling, the 100% bonus is bogus. It does not apply to quest xp (work orders), so the best u will get is one less work order every 5 or 6 lvls. I did tradeskilling at the last double xp event, and even with a veteran bonus of 100% and a potion, the difference in xp gain was negligable.

So....the only way to fully use double xp events is grind AA, all the rest is pretty futile.

edit : the double xp for guild status was very effective tho, im sure fledgeling guilds would love that

Till they announce it, I'm calling bogus.

No announcement yet. Office isn't open for another half hour or so, but we'll see.

I still doubt it.

Dunno about you, but I roll out on my Spyder July 2; I'll be arriving in Vegas around 06:00 July 6.

400 miles the first day then a 1-day rest.  Following that, 1,400 miles in 2 days.

I expect others will be driving as well.

(Edited for being lousy at arithmetic.)

Still wouldn't be going. Hate Vegas with a passion. I never go to any of the conventions... BlizzCon costs too much(southern cali can die in a.. ) and Vegas.. ugh.

At least the date's there. That is what I was looking for. SMILEY

From Piestro:

"It’s a long weekend coming up for those of us in the U.S.A. and we thought we’d add a little more fun and levity for all of you whether you are celebrating or not!

To start things off we’ll be having daily deals on the Marketplace starting Tuesday, June 28, 2011, and continuing on through Thursday, June 30, 2011, with items announced each day on the EQplayers website and in game in the Marketplace. Make sure to check back every day to see if that item that you want is on sale. You might see something that will catch your eye!

We didn’t want to leave the weekend out though, so starting Friday, July 1, 2011, and going through Monday, July 4, we’ll be having a fabulous weekend sale and Double Experience! Details on the sale will be available Friday, so make sure to take a look!"

Official Link

So, will EQ2 be getting the same deal?

Getting closer and not seeing any official posting about it.  Too bad it would have been nice.  I have two newbies and lots of toons that could always use more AA.

We all know that they usually don't post anything regarding double exp until the day before. Lame if you ask me!

I am usually out of town, having computer issues, or something preventing me from taking part in double exp weekends and this weekend I have nothing better to do than play, I suspect that there wont be double exp for that reason alone.

I'm kinda surprised nothing has been announced. I figured they'd throw out these double events as much as possible as long as they can fool people into spending real money on double sc in the mix. They gotta make a fortune for charging real money for in game items.

Bonus xp is much less important now that everybody is 90/300.

Nice that they're starting on July 1st for EQ, which is Canada Day, although I can't imagine that many Canadians will be inside playing on the computer when they could be having a beer at the lake.

Lake > EQ any day.  That being said, I did regret being in FL with my inlaws during a double xp weekend around Xmas time, but that's a different story.
