Image Hosted by ImageShack.usQuest helper appears on mouse-over in upper right hand corner of viewport. I like this setup, but I think I'm going to try to enlarge the viewport a bit more.

It's just a slight modification of the original UI, but I like it. :smileywink:

I have a pretty interesting setup, I actually USE the widescreen letterbox, gives it a cinematic feel (don't have UI cluttering my game world, it's like watching a movie) and it improves performance. I have no space wasted, every little inch of space in that letterbox is used. (well there's a tiny space around the EQ button but there's nothing I can really do about that.)

Could someone tell me how you change the XP bar to include the extra (non-default) information as shown in some of these screens, thanks.

i try to keep everything minimal, as i like to have as much viewspace as possible.  i don't understand how so many of you can play in the widescreen default setting with the black bars acrosss the top and the bottom.  just a waste of space to me.  i'm hoping that eq2 will implement better chat filter options, akin to EQ1s hitsmode.  i want to abreviate all my dammage taken and given into strictly color coded numbers with no other text involved.  i also use the modified inventory screen that shows all your stats on it as well (so you never have to hit "P", and the modified journal which splits the zone list side and the quest info side to make for much easier quest browsing.  i would recommend that everyone download that journal mod.

Sweet and simple (some would not have it any other way) no mods.
Very close to the original interface set up, except for the bottom half of the letterbox.
All of the chat is inside of it as well as two quickbars.
It works with 1024x768.
1280x1024 would have 3 quickbars instead of 2, and show 9 lines of text at once in the chat window instead of 6.

Mods used:
1. MookHUD
2. Rains_scrollfree_chatbar
3. 3-4ths hotbar, no bank, no labels
4. inventory with stats
5. Quest-Journal-Mod
6. MookPET buttons

got 2 chat windows hiding in the both of the hotkey area's.
quest window on right top only comes up if you move cursor over it.
the same goes for the xp bar and EQII button. but those are located on the buttom in the middle.

its very very empty but its very very nice :smileyhappy:

I like to keep it simple. Target bar is not shown, but it fits next to the compass, under the hotbars.

I think I stol- er... borrowed this design from someone here on the forums a while back. You can barely see it but my chat window is on the left. The raid window is on the left, right above the chat window with only two groups visible. The spell bar... thingy is right above the compass. HOs pop up at the top. I would post a better screen but Im at work right now and this was the only one with a UI that I was able to find online.

As many others are writting...I also just like to keep it as simple as possible.Crap messages to the left and chat to the right...Then main hotbars in the middle and occasionally used ones in the sides.

My UI. It's nothing special, but it does leave a lot of the game screen wide open.

This is my UI, very simmilar to the standard one. Hotbars 1, 2 and 3 are for spells and combat arts. the Small hotbars 8 and 9 are used for emotes and macros for roleplaying.

I hate stuff being on the sides of my UI, and like windows centered hence how mine is setup.  My spells are also arranged by their type (taunts, heals, stuns, etc.) to make it easy to spam alike spells during raids.  My quest window is usually not shown either, and I have a hotbar that is shown when I mouseover the area directly above the right chat box for macros, /yell, etc.  I use multiple interface pieces, but mainly it's ThorUI and default.
