Agreed. I find that problem in the bluffs area of PoM also.

One thing that helps a lot is to turn off Bloom (that's the glow/haze around things), it's one of the first things I do. You can find it in Options (alt-o), Advanced (upper right corner), Display, Atmospheric Effects
