Just saw this:

Wonder if it'll be added to station pass? If so I might have to take the red pill and check it out.

Interesting. I'd maybe try it out if I hadn't heard nothing but bad reviews of it.

Yup, looks like Warner Bros is cutting it's losses and sold Matrix Online to SOE http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/06/17/news_6127635.html

:smileyvery-happy: I already have a Station Access subscription. Will I be able to play The Matrix Online under this plan? MxO will be added to the Station Access subscription plan after the transition. Station Access is SOE’s all-in-one subscription plan that includes access to EverQuest, EverQuest II, Star Wars Galaxies, PlanetSide, and EverQuest Online Adventures for the PlayStation 2. Current MxO subscribers will be able to select this billing plan, that will give them continued access to MxO as well as SOE’s other subscription games. Station Access is $21.99 a month Matrix Online Transition FAQ http://mxoboards.warnerbros.com/forums1/ann.jspa?annID=68

Well, first of all, make sure you use the same station name to sign up with SWG that you use for EQ2.

I suggest reading the MxO transition FAQ: http://mxoboards.warnerbros.com/forums1/ann.jspa?annID=68
Although it doesn't really clarify.  Might want to send an email, just to make sure!

MxO is indeed coming to SOE and the Station Access. However, it hasn't been sold to SOE so I think it's less about cutting their losses, though it may be. WBIE and SOE are working in conjunction with each other. As I understand it WBIE still owns all rights, tech support and so forth. I think SOE is mainly contributing servers, billing, and such. I'm not 100% sure on all of this of course. And I have no real idea what the staffing situation is going to be, if SOE is sending some of their people over or not.

Another thing that this will bring, which will more than likely be included on the Station Access, is the DC Comics MMORPG. I think this may be the reason for the cooperation between WBIE and SOE. MxO might just be getting a nice side effect.

As far as bad reviews, it's all subjective. While the basic mechanics of combat remain the same, the execution is different. It's fun to watch, and can become somewhat tactical depending on your class. But it's definately not for everyone. Some of the abilities are really fun too. Since it's being added to Station Access, it might be worth it for some to get to tool around with even if they don't plan to play it too much. Plus if you liked the Matix story, it's being continued in the game. I'm not entirely sure how often it's being updated, but they keep adding to it.

I have looked further into it. SOE has actually purchased MxO. The major staff is coming over to SOE's side and more than likely SOE will add more people to it. So I stand corrected on that one.
