So I finally arrive within the Beta world, and interestingly enough, I find myself stranded on the first island.
Total of three NPCs, one of which says nothing.
One apparent transport circular disk that does nothing.
So if one can not, or chooses not to fly, one is stranded on the first island eh? well, at least it has a nice view,.... Wink

you get a free mount from one of those NPCs if you take the lvl 100 bauble iirc

indeed.
Just making a "Role-Play" specific comment.
Seems rather presumptuous that everyone has a flying mount and/or chooses to use one.

You really need one if you expect to go anywhere in PoM, at the very least till you discover the transport ring destinations. To expect everything to be handed to you without effort or proper preparation would be more presumptuous wouldn't you say?

Flying mounts are the only ones mattering for many years now, first since Destiny of Velious. Obviously the game is entirely catered to such kind of mounts & exploration, ever since Vesspyr Isles from Tears of Veeshan expac, which was the first fly-only zone to move about.
If you choose not to use a flying mount that's naturally up to you, but you can't expect them to cather the game to such single cases.

well .. tbh .. when u roleplay and arrive in the planes of magic ... house of the gods ... I don't think, it would be manageable without a flying mount.

ok, so the issue is on a flying mount, the illusion drops and breaks the roleplay, right?

.....hmmm....

A passing stranger offers to carry your little (insert illusion name here) self in her bag, for safety. They secure you, mount up, and fly to the main area. After landing, they notice a shiny in the distance, and unceremoniously disembark you, bound for shiny things. You carry on in your travels, grateful for the lift, but slightly perturbed at the landing.
