I support this. What happens with the current drop style is a return to the over-stocking of Brawler pieces, and healer pieces going to alts while mains wait for the right type to drop. It becomes more of a gear grind again. :-/For example, if your guild runs 7 healers... 4 plates, 2 chains, and 1 leather... there is a good chance of several leather drops going to alts while the plate healers still wait to get their pieces. Crate-style drops were more desirable for this reason.

Please do. We've had so many healer armor drops now it's beyond stupid. In skyshrine it's going to be a long wait for scout and mage armor. Your average raid is going to run 1 druid, 3 clerics and 2-3 shamans. Assuming 3 shamans that's 7/24 slots in raids being healers which totally doesn't justify the 3/7 armor drop rate for them. Same with tanks, most raids will run 2 or 3, occasionally 4 tanks but they get 2/7 of the armor. So assume the 7 healers and 3 tanks that leaves 14 raiders getting 2/7 of the armor drops which is just ridiculous quite frankly and will cause guilds to grind it out until they finally get the drops they need while the healer and tank loot goes to alts that don't have a hope in heck of ever being used in raids.

The whole point of GU63:Skyshrine was making just 7 sets of armor:

  • Plate Fighter
  • Leather Fighter
  • Scout (Chain)
  • Plate Priest
  • Chain Priest
  • Leather Priest
  • Mage (Cloth)

The problem is, they seem to have just done this drop rate:

  • Plate Fighter - 14%
  • Leather Fighter - 14%
  • Scout (Chain) - 14%
  • Plate Priest - 14%
  • Chain Priest - 14%
  • Leather Priest - 14%
  • Mage (Cloth) - 14%

Which results in:

  • Fighter - 28%
  • Scout - 14%
  • Priest - 42%
  • Mage - 14%

See a problem here?

If they looked at the typical raid setup, then the drop rate SHOULD be something like:

  • Fighter - 16%
  • Scout - 28%
  • Priest - 28%
  • Mage - 28%

Are you sure its not.

  • Plate Fighter - 10%
  • Leather Fighter - 25%
  • Scout (Chain) -  5%
  • Plate Priest - 10%
  • Chain Priest - 15%
  • Leather Priest - 25%
  • Mage (Cloth) - 10%
Because I see nothing but Leather/Chain healer drops usually.

Our brawler and druid armor is already going to alts......

Plate fighter/healer and chain healer aren't doing too badly.

I feel bad for the scouts and mages for sure .

With that said, I don't feel so bad about it since DoV 1.0 was so heavily slanted against priests as far as drops went. It's nice to actually be able to roll on something more than once a week finally.

DoV 1 was slanted against Priests... AND Mages. And now we're still taking it on the chin as mages.

/le sigh.

Umm? Did you even participate in Destiny of Velious raiding? Or are you just trolling and being sarcastic....

In case you aren't aware of how it's been for the last year.......

There are Fighter Crates, Mage Crates, Priest Crates, and Scout Crates.

When a Fighter crate drops, any fighter can roll on it making it so that all 6 types of fighters can have a shot at the item. Your typical raid will only have 3 or 4 fighters......

This continues on for the 6-8 priests and their crate, 5 to 6 mages and the mage crate, 4 to 6 scouts for the scout crate.

Crates prevent what we are seeing now where Brawler and Druid gear is dropping like candy and our brawlers/druids have 4 to 5 armor pieces already and half our raid hasn't even looted a single armor piece yet after 4 weeks of clearing Skyshrine content.

You will never bid against 23 others with crates and I have no clue where you came up with that from. Guaranteed drops each kill already happens.......you get 2 drops no matter what from the armor dropping bosses. The issue is that 50% of the time those drops are brawler/druid when the raid typically only has 2 of those out of 24 players. See the issue?

100% this.  I'm pretty convinced it is done out of spite now.  The math is easy, the drop rates should be in line with raid composition but it isn't even close.  It is either gross incompetence or being done with malicious intent and I'm pretty convinced it is the latter.  Just look at the lack of shards in the new zones, the mythical drops from solo stuff, needing 6 raid drops and 18 days of reseach time for tradeskilled items....  It is like the itemization decisions weren't just made to making gearing up slow but made to actually make people angry.  I just get the feeling that somewhere someone is looking at a table of loot and drops screaming U MAD BRO while laughing maniacally.  Every time I see a piece of druid gear go to someones nth alt while I haven't gotten a single piece of armor...I want to punch a baby so I suppose it is working.

This issue needs to be addressed. It's bad enough Drunder was dropping tank/scout gear rampant now Skyshrine is dropping leather/chain rampant. I'd prefer just to have the ability to have them all in a single crate and have multiples of the crate dropped. That way everyone gets one and nothing goes to alts.
