Simply the most pointless spell Illusionist's have. Can SoE please change it into a swarm pet spell or something instead of the insta death spell it currently is?

No. It shouldn't be changed. It is a unique spell and will probably have an unforeseen (and probably unintended) application in the future.

![]() I disagree period, I have this spell since 2005 in DoF and have used it MAYBE handful of times, worthless spell that just gets the Illy killed, it needs to be changed. |

Agreed, pointless spell, should be a swarm pet or 'mimic' style spell (mimics a % of what each group member does for the duration of the spell). I doubt it will have some major future use as it's been around for a decade already and is only ever cast just to mess with the tank... pointless spell and implying that it will have some hidden value in a future xpac is ridiculous.

Change it from a deagro spell to a group swarm pet spell, Enchanters in general need a damage bump over all if they are gonna make out utility more and more pointless.

ok first off illusionary allies isnt currently the most worthless illy ability....that goes to spell shield that will reflect a lvl 95 ability when all raid mobs are lvl 104

I would love to be able to use clones of my group to attack the enemy dumbfire style.

Maybe make it an AA point or something so people who want to keep the Memwipe function can just not spec for the dumbfire conversion or switch it on a per-fight basis. Or one of those "Shares a CD with..." kind of deals. |

![]() Lot's of ability's in game need to change across pretty much every class.. Unlike some, I only speak for classes that I actively play (Illy & Channeler), it's why you don't see me over on the ranger forums saying "oh this garbage ability, that hasn't been relative since KoS is fine, leave it as is", or on the pally forum saying "oh their 13k self ward is still relevant" ... People bringing up balance issue's and worthless abilities, hoping it will catch the eyes of the dev's and bring about a little bit of change, then others love to come behind and undermine it because it's not their class and for some reason they can't handle something getting fixed that doesn't relate to them... bet you're a total $#%^ blocker in real life ![]() |

You just don't know how to use it, then. It's an amazing ability when used right. If there were going to be *any* changes to it then it should just memwipe on cast and not every time they hit the mob, but that would remove some of the usefulness of the spell. Or instead of a memwipe they could make every pet's attack increase their hate position by 24, but that would end up killing you as pet threat transfers to caster upon death.
Here's some other things for you to post about that would have a far larger impact: Theorems/PChaos not doublecasting. Support abilities falling behind and personal dps not being high enough to make enchanters relevant. PT not doublecasting. PT's mechanics in general. Mana Flow killing you on some fights. CC abilities being irrelevant because everyone in the game has far too much CC that they have to make everything immune to it, and how most CC abilities should be removed and the rest have drastically shorter durations. And no, I do play all 26 classes. |

I would like to see them changed into a DPS style swarm pet. I get that this spell could be utilized to serve a purpose as the spell works currently, but there are almost always better ways.
Ultimately I would like to see is another round of Focused Class Feedback, originally done with Scars of the Awakened in 2013. I purpose SOE sacrifice a month or so of the weekly updates to make this happen again in the near future. Only changes I would think there is time for in AoM beta is tweaks to new class prestige abilities, AND as I stated on the Enchanters @ L100 thread.. bring our base auto attack damage in line with other DPS scout and mage classes. I feel we got overlooked when summoners, and sorcerers ranged weapon damage was doubled in ToV, and this is a change that should not take time and resources away from AoM development. |

![]() Man, it's almost as if I wrote the OP in that thread. I'm "******** up your thread" because every good illusionist I've ever known has loved this ability, and I personally also love the ability. Oh no, it's not an ability you can use on every fight, must be worthless and needs a revamp. I'd rather see Phase changed than Allies. The difference between that scenario that you quoted and this scenario is that I would actually be willing to play an illusionist in the same gear as you're wearing and go head to head. Illy and Necro are my go-to classes when I want to play something in the mage archetype. |

I would like to recant my previous statement regarding Illusionist Allies. I am having way too much FUN using it to manipulate my distance from mobs when I am solo to get 20 meters out for Unda Arcanus Spiritus! Plus, I still like to torment my tanks from time to time! Finally, although it is not the ideal solution to overcome certain mechanics in heroic or raid encounters, with good communication it still can be very useful from time to time.
