'Tis the season once again for Gamers to help kids and other Gamers! Since 2003, Child's Play has raised millions of dollars worth of toys, video games, game systems and cash for 40 children's hospitals around the US and the world. This year, SOE will be contributing to this effort by offering the Child's Play Anklebiter Doll in EverQuest and Child's Play Bouncing Baby Panda Cub in EverQuest II for sale for 500 Station Cash each, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the charity.

As we did last year, SOE will donate $10 to the Child's Play charity for each Station Cash purchase of these items made between December 17th, 2009 and January 17th, 2010 (up to a maximum of $50,000). Log-in Thursday, December 17th, 2009 to participate!

Thanks from Child's Play and SOE!

Awesome.  I was wondering if SOE was still doing the Childs Play thing.

:)

Glad to see some things don't change.

LOVE the doll!  I usually buy gifts for our local children's hospital, but I love the fact that SOE is doing this as well yet again.  Going in-game to get these right now.

You can't get them today SMILEY  December 17th!  I'm excited too!

The Free Realms item is also awesome, for any of you who play FR.  It's a cute little triceratops.  I heart it!

I'd love the dolly to be in EQ2. *sniffle*

But the bear is cute, too.

Great charity!

It doesn't go automagically at 12:01 am.  It has to be flipped on.  I'll check and see what the exact time is and let you guys know!

I can't wait to get mine!

The item is being triggered shortly.  I'll post as soon as it's live SMILEY

I like the little emo EQ doll as well... I am clearly going to have to hop into EQ, EQII, and FR to get items this year!

I hope this doesn't sound stupid...but I decided to buy one of these pandas because it is for charity and because the description says that it is one per character.

I purchased one and scribed it with my main character.  How do I get the scroll to scribe it on my other characters?  Am I missing something?

TBH , I'd rather donate directly as I see there is a $50,000 donation limit , thats 5000 bears/dolls and then , what happens to the rest of the money ?

It says that it may be scribed only once per character.  Not that you can scribe it once on each character.

Any chance at all we could get the vamp pet in EQ2 somehow for this?

I mean, a panda is cute and all. But I roll a guardian that wields two black axes with an evil red glow and a necromancer that uses a Drachnid illusion half the time. Not really "panda" material. SMILEY

Hey!  Being a necromancer and having a panda are not mutually exclusive states of beings!  As a necro, I proudly cuddle my panda cub in public.  d:

It says that it may be scribed only once per character.  Not that you can scribe it once on each character

Kiara, even your wording is confusing.  Why would a character need to scribe something more than once?  We all know that once a fluff pet/spell/combat art, etc. is scribed, it is scribed.  Why even say that?  I don't think anyone was trying to be deliberately misleading, but I do think it was a poor choice of words.

To me, the wording used is confusing, unnecessary and easily interpreted in the way in which I interpreted it. Maybe the promo for the item should read that it can only be scribed once per account rather than only once per character.  This would be MUCH clearer and consistent with the wording used when claiming items through the /claim command.  When using /claim, if you can claim an item on more than one character, it tells you that you can only claim in once per character but you can still claim it multiple times on the same account.

Surely you can see where the confusion arises for someone who is a veteran of the game and knows how mechanics work in game, how the /claim window works in game, but who doesn't understand how Station Cash works .

Frankly, if it wasn't for the fact that the purchase was made for charitable purposes, I would want my money back. I feel like I have been burned.  There is one thing of which you can be certain, I will be more cautious about purchasing more promotional items through Station Cash.

As with almost every fluff pet, they're only for one character.  In /claim terminology, "1 Remaining."

The Panda is a bit small dont ya think?

Would have gladly paid twice as much for the doll in EQ2 had it been available..please look into it for next year.

Or if you look at non fluff items where they use the terminology 1 per character, you can understand the confusion?
